Trail Life USA Troop VA -2019

Troop VA-2019 at Ragland Memorial Baptist Church is a member of Trail Life USA, an exciting character, leadership, and adventure program.

We invite all boys Kindergarten through 12th grade to be a part of our troop!

Tonight, Trail Life USA Troop VA-2019 celebrated our Spring Court of Honor, a special evening recognizing the hard work, growth, leadership, and accomplishments of our Trailmen throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of each young man for the dedication they have shown on the trail, in service, and in their character development.

One of the highlights of the evening was bridging over our Woodlands Trail Mountain Lions into the Navigators program. It has been a joy watching these young boys grow in confidence, skills, and faith, and we are excited to see them continue their journey as Trailmen.

From campouts and hikes to service projects and outdoor skills, this year has been filled with adventure, brotherhood, and opportunities to grow into godly men and leaders.

Thank you to all of our fathers, leaders, and families who make Troop VA-2019 such a strong and encouraging community. Congratulations to all of our Trailmen on a fantastic year. We can’t wait to see what lies ahead!

What an incredible weekend for Trail Life USA Troop VA-2019 at our annual campout at Camp Parsons! Our Trailmen had an absolute blast building skills, making memories, and enjoying God’s creation together.

From tomahawk throwing and slingshot competitions to swimming and fellowship at Bear Creek State Park, there was never a dull moment. The boys also spent time learning valuable fire safety and wood tool safety skills that help build confidence, responsibility, and leadership outdoors.

We’re thankful for the fathers, leaders, and families who make weekends like this possible and for the opportunity to grow boys into godly men through adventure, challenge, and service.

This past weekend, the Trailmen of Trail Life USA Troop VA-2019 tackled the 15-mile Three Ridges Trail, and it did not disappoint.

With steep climbs, long miles, and plenty of challenges along the way, these young men pushed themselves both physically and mentally. They encouraged each other, stayed the course, and proved that perseverance isn’t just something you talk about, it’s something you live out, one step at a time.

This is what Trail Life is all about: building boys into men through faith, challenge, adventure, and shared experience. On to the next adventure.

🔭✨ An Unforgettable Night Under the Stars! ✨🔭

Tonight, the Trailmen of TrailLife USA Troop VA-2019 had an incredible opportunity to explore God’s creation at the University of Virginia’s historic McCormick Observatory. From learning about the powerful telescopes used by astronomers to gazing at distant stars and planets, it was a night full of discovery, curiosity, and awe.

Standing beneath the night sky and seeing the vastness of the universe up close was a powerful reminder of the wonder of God’s creation and the joy of learning together. A big thank you to Professor Murphy at McCormick Observatory for hosting us and sharing his knowledge and passion for astronomy!

Great fellowship, great learning, and a great adventure for Troop VA-2019.

Trail Life Troop VA-2019 – Fall 2025 Court of Honor

Last night we had the privilege of celebrating our Fall 2025 Court of Honor, recognizing the hard work, perseverance, and growth of the Trailmen of Troop VA-2019.

From earning badges and advancing in rank to demonstrating leadership, service, and Christ-centered character, our Trailmen have accomplished so much this season. Each award represents hours of dedication, learning new skills, serving others, and living out the Trail Life values both on and off the trail.

We are incredibly proud of these young men and grateful for the parents, leaders, and mentors who faithfully invest in them. It is a joy to watch them grow in confidence, responsibility, and faith as they continue their journey together.

Congratulations to all of our Trailmen on a job well done—keep blazing the trail forward!

🇺🇸 Wreaths Across America | Honoring Our Veterans 🇺🇸

This past Saturday, Trail Life Troop VA-2019 was honored to participate in Wreaths Across America, taking time to remember and recognize the men and women who have served our country. Our troop was proud to help place wreaths and teach our young men the importance of gratitude, service, and remembering the sacrifice of our veterans.

We remember their names.
We honor their service.
We teach the next generation to never forget.

Thank you to all who have served and to the families who carry their legacy forward.

Saturday was a great day to hit the trail at the Blue Ridge Tunnel. 🚂 ☀️

At 4,237 feet length, the tunnel was the longest tunnel in the United States at the time of its completion in 1858

Another 🥾 backpacking trip in the books 🏕️! Our Navigators and Adventurers headed into St Mary’s Wilderness for a full weekend of fun. We started Friday night, hiking in at darkness and ended Sunday with 1,000 feet of elevation gain over 2 miles! Nothing like experiencing God and Nature together with fellow brothers.

On Saturday our Trailmen hiked through the St. Mary's Wilderness and enjoyed some swimming time at St. Mary’s Falls. 🥾 ☀️
