🚀 We had our Rocket Derby last Thursday at the Sandwich Fairgrounds. Scouts built their rockets at home and we loaded in the engines and ignitors together. Thank you, Mr. Grau, for once again this year facilitating the 2 liter water bottle rockets. Special thanks to our retired Cubmaster, Judd Weber for helping with launches, our prior Cub Scout and now Plano Troop Scout Louis Weber for assisting with launches and set-up and to the Sandwich Fairgrounds for letting us hold the launch there.

🍂 Fall Hike & Camp-Out ⛺ ✅
- We met Starved Rock Visitors Center and hiked 1.6 miles to Eagle Cliff and back.
- We went over and practiced the Leave No Trace Principles
- We refreshed ourselves on the Scout Oath & Law
- We did some crafts & played games at the Visitor's Center
- We headed over to Starved Rock Campground in the Youth Organization Area
- Those who were camping overnight pitched tents
- We made foil packets, hotdogs and garlic bread on charcoals over the fire
- We made a strawberry chocolate dump cake in the Dutch oven
- We played some games
- We had dens do skits & run-ons after smores
- We were lead in song by Mr. Krueger
- Most turned in for bed early because it was cold
- We had pancakes and sausage for breakfast in the morning
- Fun was had by all.

SANDWICH, LET’S LINE THE STREETS TONIGHT! ⚓🇺🇸

Today is a VERY special day! AM3 Garrett Rheude, who has been serving our country aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, is COMING HOME, and I want to help give him a hometown welcome he will NEVER forget! ❤️🤍💙

His mom is putting together a welcome home es**rt, and I would absolutely LOVE to see our community come together and FILL THE STREETS to welcome this sailor home!

🇺🇸 EXPECTED ARRIVAL: 8:00 PM TONIGHT!

Es**rt Route:
📍 Latham → Route 34 → Main Street → Center Street

Bring your American flags, make some signs, grab your family, and find a safe spot along the route!

Whether you know Garrett personally or not, he has been serving OUR country, and tonight we have an opportunity to show him just how much his service means to our little community.

The Webelo Den met Friday evening 10/9 and earned their Stronger, Faster, Higher requirement! They learned about nutrition and food safety and planned their meal for the night, we went for a run to get our heartbeats up, played some soccer, painted wooden Halloween coffins ⚰️ to relax after all our activities and cooked hot dogs and s’mores over the campfire (we also had bananas and plums).

Our Bear 🐻 Den met yesterday morning to complete their Bear Strong requirement.

They brought their favorite healthy snacks to share, stretched, did some exercises and played Ultimate Frisbee.

They had a beary good time. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Krueger for planning -& leading this month's Den Meeting.

At our Pack Meeting we announced that we earned $400 from our fundraiser night.
