This morning, our Scouts were invited to help hand out American flags for the Flag Memorial Garden at the "Donut Forget the Fallen" Memorial Day Tribute held by the Lake Holiday Rec Committee in Lake Holiday.

The VFW Sandwich performed a brief Flag Ceremony and we were reminded that tomorrow, we aren't thanking Veterans for their service, we are remembering and honoring those who died in service to our Country.

This morning a few of our Cub Scouts, with help from Scout Troop 45, assisted the VFW Sandwich with putting American Flags next to Veteran Graves at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

It is important to our Pack to have Scouts learn Reverence and to do their duty to God and their Country. We teach them this by taking them to events like this one. Sharing that each cemetery stone with a military branch means that the person served in our military to protect us; that each one with a named war means that person served in that war; and what the award decorations mean, like Purple Heart.

We will continue to guide our Scouts to respect and show reverence for those who have died while serving our country.

Weather was on our side for a fun Spring Campout! We did a lot of fishing, hiked, made smores and with no phone signal, had a screen detox. Great time for kids to be kids. Thank you to our Pack Elder, Ed Gacek, for organizing and leading a wonderful campout. Thank you to Mr. Ortega, Mrs. Grau, Mr. Kruger and Mrs. Vilumis for helping with cooking food. Thank you to parents who donated towards our meals. πŸ’™πŸŽ£ πŸšΆβ€βž‘οΈπŸŒ³πŸŒ… πŸ’›

We've been lucky enough to partner with The Chocolate Shoppe for pack fundraisers for the past 3 years. Each year, our fundraising goal is higher. We fundraise for Pack expenses, which include: meeting supplies, camping fees, trailer repair and licensing, annual pack dues and much more. Fundraising enables us to not have to charge our families a Pack fee on top of the Council and National Scouting fees.

Our Scouts beat our $4,501 fundraising goal, selling $4,989 worth of product! Our top 3 selling Scouts received prize baskets with items donated by our Pack Leaders. Congratulations to Julaine, Sebastian and Bash!

Our Pack could not and would not succeed without the efforts of our parents and guardians! We want to thank all of our Den Leaders, our Cubmaster and Committee Chair for leading our Pack and helping our Scouts excel. We have some great parents in our Pack. From donations, to preparation, to set-up, clean-up, award recording, meeting planning, event planning, organization, kid wrangling, woodworking, trailer maintenance and 3D printing; we are so grateful to have adults with such a wide range of skills that are willing to help. You are all what make our Pack great. Thank you! *peep the custom 3D printed neckerchief slides*

🌷Our Pack is so lucky to have a chartered organization that supports us and helps us succeed. We are happy to continue our Spring tradition of filling their patio cement planters with flowers. Scouts are asked to bring a full sun annual of any kind and any color. Each planter is different and creative. Most symbolic, each planter will continue to grow and bloom throughout the Spring and Summer, just like our Scouts. We hope your center attendees & staff enjoy them, Fox Valley Community Services πŸͺ»
