We are super excited to share that our Education Department earned the Superior Testing Achievement Recognition (Star) from MDHHS. We are now known for 100% of our EMT students passing the National Registry and becoming licensed EMT's!

The Department acknowledges Sanilac Medical Services, Inc. as one of Michigan's top-performing EMS education programs!

This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work of; Lea Lentz, Program Director, Lisa Stone, Program Sponsor Representative, Amy Herek, Education Coordinator and Lisa Hill, Lead Instructor.

Today, Sanilac Medical Control Authority awarded these 4 Sanilac EMS professionals with an achievement coin for their 2 separate cardiac arrest saves.

Sarah Kautz & Sarah Pratt were the crew that saved their patient, who made a full recovery after experiencing cardiac arrest.

Then, a few weeks later, Bill Nugent & Tracy Swoffer Tanton saved a different patient, who experienced a cardiac arrest. This patient also made a full recovery.

Please help us in congratulating these EMS professionals for their excellent patient care!

We are hosting a Child & Babysitting Class. This class is for those ages 12 years and older. Here we will teach how to be a responsible baby-sitter. This class includes the teaching of lifesaving skills, such as basic choking, CPR awareness and when to call 911.
The class will be held in our office at 171 Dawson Street, Ste. 238, Sandusky on Monday, July 27 beginning at 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
Because of our Millage dollars, this class is FREE to our Sanilac County residents! Be sure to get signed up early by visiting our website at www.sanilacmca.org, as space is limited.

The summer EMT Course is open for enrollment. This course begins July 7, 2026 and runs through September 22, 2026, 9:00am - 5:00pm. It is Hybrid format, with in person classes every Tuesday. In addition to classroom hours, students are required to complete 48 hours of EMS clinical ride-along.
Cost of the course is $975.00 in-county
$1200.00 out-of-county
Payment plans are available with prior arrangements.

Instructor Coordinator course update. We are working to finalize the course and it will be posted for enrollment this week. The cost of the course is 775.00 for Sanilac County Residents and 1000.00 for non residents this does not include textbook . The course will start in September with a tentative seated class day of Tuesdays along with utilizing a Google Classroom format .

Congratulations goes out to our students in our Spring EMT Course. These students successfully completed the course today and are now eligible to take the National Registry exam. Please help us in wishing them good luck on the next phase of their journey towards becoming EMTs!

To all prospective Instructor Coordinator Students. The course will start after Labor day. Details will be determined as to what day will be the seated day ( never a Wednesday). I will be updating our website once enrollment can begin. Tuition does not include the textbook
