Breaking Chains Recovery

A year ago today I was sitting in Erie county jail; grateful and relieved for this answered prayer. 3 years in and out of county, being homeless, running from the law, numbing out the pain, battling my mental health, and hitting rock bottom had all come to an end.

For the first time in months I slept like a rock. The first 24 hrs in holding and then another 48 hrs straight when I was moved to the pod.

When I was finally rested the first thing I did when I woke up was thank the Lord for doing for me what I couldn't do for myself and prayed a prayer of complete surrender.

I immediately requested a counselor, peer support, a treatment plan, and the vivatrol shot. It took 11 out of the 14 day max. for the opiates to clear my system completely to receive it. However, God showed me mercy and grace that I didn't suffer with with a single withdrawal symptom!

From the beginning of this experience God's hands were all over my life! Everything fell into place by divine design...

My estranged son & daughter came back into my life as support
2 1/2 months in county to
30 day inpatient treatment in Lorain county to 6 months of faith based sober living
Made amends with my estranged brother
1st sober birthday with my family
Moved in with my daughter
Reunited with my youngest daughter & grandson
1st Thanksgiving as a family
1st Christmas with the family
1st birthday with my grandson...

And those miracles are just the highlights!!!

Exactly 1 year clean and sober today! I have a life worth living instead of feeling the need to escape!

But for the grace of God go I!

I'M BAAAACK!!!
Sooo, after a year of work, growth, and prayer I've been led to keep this account after all. I have too many groups, pages, and friends across the world that mean the world to me. Time for a complete overhaul and upgrade though.

RIP brother...I'm just at a loss, numb...angry...I'm so very sorry that we weren't there this time...we thought it would make it easier to stay clean...let me rephrase, we stepped back to respect you and make it easier for her to live in her denial and blame. I understand where she's coming from, I've been her...I also understood where you were coming from, cause I've been you too. We love you, we will miss you, and we'll be sure to NEVER let you leave the forefront of our minds to help us keep on, keepin on. RIP DFS

Greetings y'all!!! I hope this finds everyone well. I'm in need of an openly available moderator to help with our recovery group, Breaking Chains Recovery aka BCR.

I have had a great need for help since last year's untimely passing of our brother Jason Lewis. However, I haven't been able to bring myself to try and fill a position that only he could. Though no one ever will completely, I do still need help moderating and managing the group.

I need someone who's able to approve membership's after each and every question is properly answered. Every post must be read over thoroughly. Every video post must be thoroughly viewed start to finish before approval for posting. This group allows a wide variety of links and/or even products to be shared so long as it's within a reasonable amount and recovery related. Even if it is a GoFundMe page... again so long as it is recovery related!!!

Our group doesn't have a long list of rules and the few we have are pretty standard. Watch your language, no belittling or degrading, and be kind. Be loving, supportive, and encouraging OR BE SILENT!!!

Our group, first and foremost, is founded on Christian beliefs. Individually, we all take a wide variety of paths to get and keep clean/sober. We support the "Whatever it takes" mentality!!!

Thank you ahead of time for taking a few minutes out of your "more than usual" busy schedules to take a look at this!!!

Well, family history of high blood pressure has finally caught up. No heart attack and I managed to make it over 42 years without developing it until now, praise the Lord! Got me started on a base low dose blood pressure med and strict orders to avoid stressors at least until the medication is adjusted to control it. Ha, yeah right! LOL
