After high winds battered the area this week, the calm skies today brought out a handful of members to capitalize on the opportunity. We saw a lot of different aircraft make successful flights and some that didn't. Congratulations to new member, Scott H. for completing his safety flight and earning his KCAM wings today!

On Saturday October 25th, KCAM held our last scheduled night fly of the year. We were pleasantly surprised at the turn out for the event. 12 pilots and a handful of audience attendees braved the overcast skies and chilly weather to fill the sky with LED lights. We got to see a range of neat aircraft take to the skies including a LED lit Paraglider, a Night Timber, 3 Night Radians and even a few scratch built night fliers. It was truly a sight to see. Also, a big THANK YOU to President Rob Lough for manning the grill to feed the hungry masses. Stay tuned as we will be planning to promote more night fly's in 2026 if you want to see the spectacle for yourself.

The great weather lead to a massive turnout on Saturday with about a 1/3rd
of the club membership at the field! The day had some high and low points, a few near-catastrophes, buddy box training, maiden's, and Solo's but approximately 20 members made flights!

Check out KCAM’s friend Phil Camp’s awesome P-38 Lighting!

Todays featured Pilot Project is a P-38J Lightning builty by Phillip Camp

This P-38J was built by Phillip from Ziroli plans. His friend cut the kit for him with the proviso that Phillip finish it in the vermillion scheme of “Yippee,” the 5,000th P-38 off the Lockheed assembly line. Powered by a pair of GP-61 gas engines, the model has Sierra Giant Scale retracts and is guided by a Futaba radio. It’s fully sheeted, fiberglassed, and painted and dressed up with Callie Graphics.
