Thanks to all who helped make the installation weekend a success! Jenni Charrier, John, Chris and Jim Rostberg, Rose Hansen, Paul Olson, Jakob Foss and Allison Fajt- And my husband Rod, were just wonderful.

If you didn't have a chance to attend, this is a permanent installation and you can use the QR code posted there to actually hear the voice of Mah Eeu Gaunce, recorded in about 1910 by ethnologist Frances Densmore, singing his song "Around The World".

As summer fades into fall, the asters begin blooming and the bees and butterflies are abundant. Minnesota has over 500 species of native bees, including 23 native bumble bees! The bees range from super thumb size to tiny .16 ". Come visit the MGG and admire them as they feast on the pollen.

This year's rain has produced a bumper crop of mosquitoes!!! Prepare for your visit wearing long pants and long sleeve shirts, and bring repellent. Spray is provided at the kiosk where you sign in, but spray can't be provided for hundreds of visitors! Netted hats are also available. Thank you!!! The pink lady slippers are stunning this year-they will only last about one more week.🥰

This year of 2024 I will be making a sculpture group about the story of Maiingans Albert little Wolf, who as a 9 year old boy walked 20 miles in a blizzard to get help for his grandparents at Crow Wing. His legs were so frozen they had to be amputated. Find out what happened next! Installation will be in August.

Here is the newest installation in the Goose Garden and the story behind it.
Many thanks to the people of Minnesota that voted for the Legacy amendment years ago. That amendment allowed artists to write for grants with the MN State Arts Board. This grant was for $6,000. The costs of preparing the 15' base and the material to create it came to $5,958!
