What an amazing evening! The show jumping community has yet again shown so much love, dedication, and passion for our work.
We are incredibly thankful for everyone who pledged yesterday, and we want you to know that because of your generosity we far exceeded our goal of $25k, and raised $44,222!!!! Tegens House will be an amazing home for some of our most involved and beautiful children 🙏🏽
We also met the new owners of Thunderbird and Dana and Laurel have joined us as our newest sponsors of one of our sweet little girls, Zenabowa.
We are so incredibly thankful for all the support the show jumping community has shown and continues to show. Having a partner like this is truly what makes our work possible every single day.

Today is the day!
Jump for the Village is happening this evening, during the Grand Prix class at Thunderbird Show Park.
We are so incredibly thankful for everyone who has already pledged, and made the commitment to help us continue our work building brighter, more hopeful futures for the children we care for.
We need to raise $25,000 USD to create Tegen's House, a complex care house for our most vulnerable and medically complex children, where they will thrive with their house mother and dedicated care givers. This house will honor the memory of Tegen Crooks, who passed away recently, and inspired our focus on caring for children with special needs.

Jump for the Village is coming in TWO DAYS!!! We are so incredibly thankful to the amazing Thunderbird Family, and the show jumping community for their loving, dedicated support. Our work caring for some of the world's most vulnerable orphans is such a labor of love and also an amazing partnership with compassionate, dedicated folks, the majority of whom are also part of the international show jumping community. One of the most important ways that we are able to meet the ever growing and changing needs of our children is through fundraising.
And Jump for the Village is one of the ways that we do that. Over the years, Jump for the Village has helped us take so many important steps forward, and has shown what is possible when beautiful partnerships are created, nourished, and strengthened over time.
The show jumping community has been our most important partner, and continues to be such a source of inspiration and courage when we face challenges, and also a steady, dedicated partner as we work to change the lives of the children we serve. The show jumping community's passion for horses and their sport has also created a unique and powerful relationship that helps to uplift some of our world's most vulnerable children.
We have held Jump for the Village fundraisers through the generosity and support of so many amazing horse show venues and organizers, and the show jumping community has always come through, showing the kindness, compassion, and fierce spirit of dedication to love that we know is such an important part of this world.
And the one coming up this week, at Thunderbird Show Park, on May 30, during the Saturday Evening Grand Prix is an extra special event because it will enable us to create a very important new complex care house in the village, in honor of Tegen Crooks, Jennifer's son who recently passed as a result of his own very complex medical conditions.
We have taken in a growing number of children of all ages with complex medical needs, and it has become evident that we need to create a special house, with all the necessary equipment and resources, to care for them effectively. In order to do that, we need to raise $25,000 during this Jump for the Village event.

Our children have the safety and love that every child deserves because of your support. Parenting is the most precious and important role any of us can take on, the responsibility for shepherding an innocent new soul into life, into living in this world, and into their own personhood.
Today, we want to highlight a very special set of parents who we have come to know as a beloved part of our UV family.
Elfanesh and her husband have a beautiful son Abenezer who has special needs. Since Abenezer was a tiny baby, his mother has been his fiercest and most dedicated advocate. She is part of our UV village staff, and has been 1000% committed to giving Abenezer every opportunity, every chance at a healthy, thriving life, no matter how hard that can be at times. And make no mistake, having a child with special needs in Ethiopia is exponentially harder than navigating that same scenario anywhere in the Western world, for a myriad of reasons. But Elfanesh is one of those mothers who will not accept anything except the best for her son.
Through the support of our Family Sponsorship program, Elfanesh has access to regular Physical Therapy, medication assistance, and the support of a community who knows how amazing and worthy her son is.
This family is just one of 15 who are enrolled in this program, and who are able to access truly life changing care and resources because of this program.
We very much need funding for this program, specifically sponsors who are willing to help us empower these families to give their children the care and opportunities that they deserve, and cannot access without support.
We are looking for 3 sponsors to help us fund this program. Until now, we have funded this program out of our regular budget, which is not sustainable. The entire program costs approx. $6,000 USD per year, so we are looking for 3 sponsors to commit to $2,000 annually to fund this program.
