When Sandpoint's temperatures dipped 20 degrees and the forecast of rain temporarily postponed our All Aboard -Outdoors sail ... we joined together to demonstrate the healing power of presence; all-the-while, exploring the plethora of creative FUN that can be experienced on 'a rainy day'!
Deni Williamson invited us to a table filled with rainbow colored pencils to immerse in a journey of celebrated coloring creation that activated laughter, silliness, storytelling, connection and a sweet-kind-of quieting within.
Some where tapping their toes to the sounds of Gene Kelly, as Elissabeth shared "Singing in the Rain". Yet, joy-filled playful movement emerged, as "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" echoed throughout the room while Volunteer, Becky demonstrated the 'jitter-bug'. Volunteer, Cindie was joined with our youngest volunteer, Micaiah, as they danced to the upbeat streams of "Rocking in the Rhythm of the Rain"...giggling out loud!
Through our experience, we found that each person finds their pace on rainy days --often rain brings out contemplative activities, while others like to mooooooove and groove.
The evidence of cozy connection seemed to warm our heart, while delightful scents of yummilicious sweet treats lingered the afternoon long.
Our poem summarized the treasures of what we discovered in being together: "Sharing a rainy day with a Friend, turns our Hearts Into Rainbows".
Thank you All .... for your magnificent and vibrant gift of Being!
