Today was the second day of our Deep Water Cleanup in Bayview, Idaho. It started yesterday with the placement of totes strategically around the area designated to be cleaned by divers who are collecting debris and placing it into totes that lay at the bottom of the bay. The totes when filled by the divers are then pulled from the bottom with a small barge and brought to the boat launch at the shoreline. From that point with the help of an excavator are then moved to a large dumpster where trucks with trailers await to be filled. The filled trailers are then off to the solid waste collection site.
This project is being sponsored by the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club. This is the first of a three year project that will take place again in the next two years. The pictures below illustrate some of the process. This operation has been made possible by generous donors, hard working volunteers, and area residents, and businesses.
These individuals will be hard at their tasks for the next two days. If you want to help in future cleanups or help with donations to help us finish this important project let us know at [email protected]

Announcement! Carter Sandahl is the proud winner of the $10 Raffle Ticket for the 2026 Spring Derby!! Congratulations Carter!!

Announcement! The 2026 Reel Treasures and Pin Auction has started its Preview today through Friday. It goes live Saturday 4/11/26. Be sure to get registered. The $25 Super Derby Raffle Ticket is ready to be purchased by you! I bought mine! This enables you to possibly win a free Derby Ticket for all three LPOIC 2026 Derbies. What a deal! Buy as many as you want. The value of this Super Derby Ticket is $180. The proceeds from this raffle go to the LPOIC Scholarship Program Fund.

Announcement! There is a special letter of information that I urge you to read on the LPOIC website. Please go to lpoic.org and in the menu under “About Us” scroll down to “Tributary Spawning Protection”, click on and read all of the letter written on this subject. If you agree please click at the bottom of that screen and show your support for this very important effort. Thank you.

Announcement! The LPOIC Spring Derby starts 4/24/26 and runs for 9 days through 5/3/26. This is always an exciting time! It starts the year’s fun fishing season and we are all ready to get out there and enjoy being out on the lake and hopefully catch a winning fish! I will be back a little later with the “Wish List” in case you want to become a sponsor for any of the many different winning positions. You are always appreciated!

Announcement! Bayview Deep Water Cleanup is coming May 4th through May 7th. This is a 3 year project headed by Board Member Christine Sandahl with her very busy committee members! There will be professional and volunteer divers to bring up junk items from the bottom of the lake. This will be the 3rd time this project has taken place but this is the start of a much larger project! For more information or if you would like to take part in this important event please send emails to [email protected]. This is another way that the LPOIC continues to lead ambitious underwater cleanup efforts as part of its Lake Enhancement mission.

Announcement! Attention boating friends of Bayview. This year 2026, is a year of reconstruction. Highway 54 has a remodel project that will extend to the end of July or so. Detours are in pace so please pay attention for the signs.
The Farragut Boat Launch is getting a facelift also. It will be closed until the end of May with a hope of it opening for the Memorial Day weekend.
Please lookout for the wildlife on the detour roads and obey all speed limits.

Stay tuned for updates as they come in for this exciting busy time!

Hello Everyone,
This is an informative email being sent to you from the Board of Directors of the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club.

Two years ago, the club’s website was completely restructured for the ability of anglers to make online purchases for LPOIC Memberships/Renewals, Derby Registrations, Raffle Tickets and
Club Donations. Online transactions were set up to enable an easier and more convenient way for members to make these purchases.

As we all know prices of most aspects of our lives have gone up and continue to rise. The Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club is also being impacted by these rising costs. To date, LPOIC has been
absorbing the fees charged for online credit card purchases. During the January 28, 2026, Board of Director’s Meeting, these costs were discussed at length.

Beginning March 1, 2026, credit card processing fees are now applied to all LPOIC credit card purchases online.

All fees will be shown before you complete a purchase.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club and its mission to Protect and Enhance Lake Pend Oreille.
