We would like to congratulate Priest Lake Food Bank for winning our Spring 2026 grant of $11,000!!! With the support of 101 Women Sandpoint, Priest Lake Food Bank will be able to install a sewer pressure line and a gravity sewer line to the building at their new site in Priest Lake. A permanent, purpose-built facility is essential to expanding their capacity and ensuring reliable year-round service to food-insecure neighbors. Currently, they share a very small space with a local thrift store. Sewer infrastructure is the critical first utility that must be in place before the Phase 1 garage/storage building can be built in Fall 2026. This grant will make the entire vision possible.

In addition, we found out at the photo shoot that another generous donor will match our $11,000 grant! So we helped raise $22,000 for the "guts" of their new facility!

Present for the award from the Priest Lake Food Bank were; Joan Andrews-Director, Richard Gumaer-President and Mary Gumaer-Secretary. 101 Women Board Members present were; Vicki Reich (President), Julie Jurenka, Liz Koster, and Mary Catherine Role. Also present from 101 Women were; Anita Porter, Debbie Love and Debbie Dickerson.

As usual, ALL three presentations by the non-profit finalists were compelling and informative and it is always a hard choice! Having just one winner of the $11,000 grant allows for a very large impact to the winning organization.

If you would like to know more about our three finalists and want to contribute more than our grant donation, please refer to their websites below to donate money, other items, or volunteer. All three applicants have offered to give tours of their facilities to 101 Women members.

We would like to congratulate the Pend Oreille Arts Council (POAC) for winning our 2025 Fall grant of $11,000!!! The Pend Oreille Arts Council works in collaboration with the Lake Pend Oreille School District, home school academies, and the Panida Theater to bring educational visual and performing arts programs to the students and residents of Bonner County. The $11,000 grant will be used to support the Kaleidoscope Visual Arts and the Ovations Performing Arts Educational Outreach Programs, in particular, to help fund much needed and high quality art supplies. Both programs serve ~3,700 students each year.

As usual, ALL three presentations by the non-profit finalists were compelling and informative and it is always a hard choice!

Last fall our grant went to the Sandpoint Teen Center. We were happy to hear that with our grant and exposure to the 101 Women community they were able to provide the participating teenagers with after-school activities including: healthy snacks and hot meals prepared through their culinary development program, assistance with homework, and projects and games initiated by the teens; all overseen by a caring and mentoring staff.
