I know it’s not Easter but I never ended up posting this piece when I first received it.

So here we go,

I always grew up loving Easter. It was a day full of fun, excitement, and lots of adventures.

Kids hunting for eggs, family’s getting together for dinners, scintillating stories being told among friends.

As I got older I realized that wasn’t the case for many families. I was incredibly fortunate to have that type of a experience. And I’m very grateful for it.

Regardless if you have a amazing family or close relatives I know we all have someone in our lives that we love dearly.

How about instead of showing our love on holidays and birthdays we do it everyday without the need of the day being special.

Remember,

Everyday is special if you make it.

Go tell someone you love them and give someone a compliment today.

After all today is special.

Schizophrenia is something not many people know about but affects around 1% of our current population. That is 78 million people that are struggling with schizophrenia.

Today I wanted to share that with you as well as this art piece that was done by my brother very early into his diagnosis with schizophrenia.

It was a interpretation of the mind and how wild and unforgivable it can be.

This masterpiece has always struck me at the heart. I can see the emotion in the drawing, the confusion, the fear, yet their is still beauty.

We must always remember the beauty. Especially during hardship. We see pain everywhere and everyday and others see it more and feel it more.

It is our duty to find the beauty, find the love, find the purpose.

During some of the hardest times for my brother and our family they where able to do that. They found joy and beauty through the rain and the storm.

I hope the storm never comes your way but if it does, I wish that you will find the beauty once the trees have been watered.

We need more rehabilitation in prison and less punishment. Im not saying no punishment but defiantly less. , , , , ,

It's absurd that people have to pay for the smallest things in prison. A PHONE CALL?! We need to normalize their lives to best prepare them for rehabilitation. , , , , ,

That's all you need to hear. We need more programs in prison and the facts support it. Its not my opinion its just the truth. , , , , ,
