The woman who created Mother's Day died penniless trying to cancel it.

Anna Jarvis built the holiday to honor her mother. She wanted a handwritten letter. A quiet moment. A daughter sitting beside her mom.

What she got was a retail event. So she spent every dollar she had trying to take it back.

"A printed card means nothing except that you are too lazy to write to the woman who has done more for you than anyone in the world."

— Anna Jarvis, founder of Mother's Day

Her story deserves to be told. Read the full post at the link in our bio.

We can't wait until our meeting to share all the things we learned at the ISSDAR Conference. It's time to put on our thinking caps and roll up our sleeves. Our community needs us more than ever and there is so much we can do to help, so let's get to work. But yes, we also had a lot of fun too. Enjoy the smiles. And any of you ladies out there in North Idaho looking to join a fun group of ladies that help their community, reach out. We would love to hear from you.
