2013 marks our 65th year

A core group of volunteers got together in the Spring of 1948 and formed the Sandersville-Tennille Community Concert Association. The slogan “Bring Carnegie Hall to our Home Town” appeared in a full-page advertisement in the April 29, 1948 edition of the The Sandersville Progress. The citizens in our area were urged to buy a membership card for $6.00. Over 700 people resp

onded which enable the charter officers to book three concerts for the season. The first performance was Yfrah Neaman, a 24-year old violinist. From the beginning, approximately 200 professional performances have been presented to the members of our association and the community. We strive to bring a little piece of Carnegie Hall to Washington County. For many years, we have had a cooperation with Live On Stage. Located near Nashville, Live On Stage works with our association and others like it around the country to provide many different attractions and to personally assist us in making our selections each year.
