Take Me Out To The Ballpark!!
Ladies and gentleman of Sandborn and the surrounding communities, we are coming to you with this quick note to ask for your support and input.
I have so many memories of the incredible town that I grew up in. Festivals, cookouts, parades, community cookouts, yard sales, kids riding their bikes across town so fast just to beat the street lights coming on before they reached the front porch, Halloween cake walks and most of all that amazing
baseball park we all enjoyed as kids growing up…
I ask those of you that know to close your eyes for a moment and just be quiet…do you hear the ball hitting the bat, the cheers from the bleachers, the other players all chanting ‘hey batter batter, hey batter batter’ and do you smell the hotdogs and popcorn? I
know I can just like it was yesterday. It is crazy how warming it is to take myself back to those days…
WELL, here is where we need your support…. It absolutely makes our hearts hurt to see how time has deteriorated our park….
The Daugherty Family has created The Sandbox Foundation which is becoming a 501c3 (non-profit) which is seeking to lease all of the land where the baseball field, basketball courts and tennis courts now sits in a total shamble. We want to transform this into a field of dreams type of location with an incredible place for baseball to be played once again and soccer fields for kids to learn and play.
The Sandbox Foundation wants to be able to give all of our towns current and future children that very same opportunity to grow up experiencing what all of us did in the past. WE want to be their advocates and change lives one little heart at a time. It is our hope that you will want the same.
Can I ask you to PLEASE voice your opinion on this proposal?
If it is a positive opinion/thought then we want to hear why you feel this way and give us your favorite memory of the ballpark.
If it is a negative opinion/thought please justify your reasoning as we want to take everything into consideration…
