We are GROWING!!

We love how the Sand Springs community continues to show their heart and desire for helping children in our community. Our town was founded on helping children, and we love to see that legacy continue.

Sand Springs Home Connections is currently caring for 5 children in foster homes throughout Sand Springs, not including our Children’s home and Family Village. These are typical families, working typical jobs while we help support their fostering journey.

We are currently going through the process to open THREE more homes in the next month with even more applications for foster homes on the way.

What we need: HELP! Comment or message us if you are interested in a full time position or volunteering.

As adults, we are the ones who should be doing hard things for kids.

Kids enter the foster care system every day because they didn’t have an adult in their life who prioritized their needs and protection. Because their adults didn’t do the hard things for them. Sometimes, these kids had to do the hard things for their adults and siblings.

An 8-year-old cooking dinner for her 3-year-old sibling or they didn’t eat. A 16-year-old who worked, not for the typical fun teenage things, but to keep the lights and water on. If he didn’t pay the bills, those utilities were shut off. The stories go on and on, and these kids are right here.

These kids are in our city. These kids are next door.

These kids need YOU.

What we’re looking for:�✅ Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field�✅ Experience with children & families, preferably in foster care/child welfare�✅ Strong communication & problem-solving skills�✅ Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation

We see this in each of our foster parents. We are honored that they allow us to walk beside them as they experience some of the deepest sorrows and as they celebrate all the joyful moments that come with having kids in their home. Our foster families are some of the most loving and courageous individuals we know, and they never stop growing and learning to better care for the kids in their home.

Foster care wrecked my comfort zone.

It forced me into places I never thought I’d go—hard conversations, sleepless nights, hearing stories no one should have to experience & heartbreaks I didn’t think I would survive. It exposed every weakness, every insecurity, every piece of me that wanted to play it safe.

But it also expanded me in ways I didn’t know were possible. It stretched my patience, deepened my compassion & taught me how to love without conditions or guarantees. It showed me that my capacity to keep showing up, even when it hurts, is far greater than I ever imagined.

Foster care doesn’t just change the lives of the children—it changes you too.

At Connections we believe that family extends to our brothers and sisters in Christ, and we view fostering as a way to serve these family members. Foster care gives us an opportunity to extend our hands to love and care for our brothers and sisters in Christ as they face the difficult situations that are a result of this broken world.

This is the promise that foster parents are asked to make. This requires a special kind of sacrificial love from foster parents as they are called to love the child in their home as if the placement is forever while knowing that the placement is temporary.

Please pray for the hearts of all foster parents. That they feel the strength and love of Jesus Christ as they bridge with natural families while simultaneously giving their hearts to the children in their care.
