STEP TWO
We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Read that word again. Could.
Not "might." Not "if we're lucky." Step Two isn't hedging on what God can do — His ability was never the question. "Could" is there because we're looking backward at the moment we finally admitted it. He always could. We just hadn't believed it yet.

After Step One left us with the truth that we can't fix ourselves, Step Two asks whether we're willing to say out loud that Somebody else can.
We didn't come to believe because someone out-argued us.

We came to believe because we watched it happen. Right here in our own church, we have seen God heal people and set them free by the power of the Holy Ghost. Not a story from somewhere far off. People sitting in the room with us.

This week we heard from a sister who was instantly delivered from addiction and received the Holy Ghost years ago — and has never looked back.

When Jesus set the Gadarene man free, the people came out and found him "sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind." (Luke 8:35) Restored to sanity. Then Jesus told him to go home and "shew how great things God hath done unto thee." (Luke 8:39) That's what a testimony is, and that's why we keep telling them.

If you can't believe it for yourself yet, come borrow ours until you can.

I can't stop.

That's not a confession of weakness. That's Step One.

Step One is admitting we are powerless over our addiction — that we cannot beat this on our own strength, our own willpower, our own next Monday. Every "Day 1" we ever counted was proof of the same thing: the problem was never that we didn't want it badly enough.

Paul said it plainly: "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not." — Romans 7:18

The wanting was there. The power wasn't.
And that's exactly where God steps in. "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." — 2 Corinthians 12:9

You don't have to be strong to walk through the door. You just have to stop pretending you are.

Come as you are. Bring somebody with you.

He could make you. He doesn't.

Giving my life to God changed everything — but nobody handed it to me. Mercy was offered. I had to reach for it.

"I have set before you life and death… therefore choose life." He set it in front of us and stepped back. That's not distance. That's respect.

I wish everybody would say yes. God loves you enough to let it be your call.

You didn't get free to stand still.

Step 12 is the one people skip — carry the message, practice the principles in all your affairs. "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Not fishers of yourself.

Somebody in this town is exactly where you were a year ago. They don't need a perfect person. They need somebody who walked it.

Nobody thinks their sin is the bad kind.

We keep a ladder in our heads. White lie near the bottom. Candy bar you took at nine, a rung up. Murder at the top, where the real sinners are. And every one of us makes sure we're standing somewhere respectable on it.

Climb it all you want. It still ends short of the glory. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." All. The preacher on the platform and the man in the back row came in the same door.

That's not meant to crush you. It's meant to level the ground. If everybody came short, nobody gets to look down on anybody — and the blood that covers what you'd say out loud covers what you never would.

Repentance isn't the small thing you do for small sins. It's the whole door. It's open tonight.

The enemy's favorite lie -
is that you're too far gone, too loud, too much of a mess for God to notice. That's exactly what the crowd told Bartimaeus too.

He was blind, broke, and sitting on the side of the road — forgotten. But when he heard Jesus was passing by, he cried out. The crowd told him to be quiet. He cried out louder. Because he knew: if Jesus could hear him, Jesus could heal him.

Somebody — or something — is trying to silence you right now. Cry out anyway. He still stops for the ones who won't stay quiet.

You can't love someone sober.

Not because you didn't love them enough. You prayed. You begged. You paid it off, covered for them, stayed up all night with your phone in your hand. And none of it worked.

That is not your failure. It was never yours to fix.
Rescuing someone and loving someone are not the same thing — and sometimes the most loving word you have left is no.

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you." — Psalm 55:22

If you love someone who is still using, you're allowed to get help too. Thursday's door is open for you, not just for them.

You don't get to Jesus by accident.
You get to Him because you wanted Him more than you wanted the addiction — and you kept taking steps until you got there.

This week's Truth Drop is about that decision. It doesn't matter what it costs, how far it is, or what everybody else has to say about it.

Jesus doesn't just forgive your story — He rewrites it. New pages. New chapter. New life.

Like the l***r who stayed instead of walking away from his miracle — don't leave before you get yours.

Monday has a way of showing up with the whole week attached to it.

You don't have to win all of it today. You only have to walk today.

Grace doesn't come in a lump sum — it shows up every morning, and it's always enough for the day in front of you. So don't carry Friday on a Monday. Carry what's yours, and set the rest down.

"His mercies are new every morning."
— Lamentations 3:23

You're not doing this alone. 🤍

When the walls close in and there's no way out on your own... that's not the end. That's where surrender begins. 🙌

Laying it all down at Jesus' feet doesn't just change your circumstances — it changes YOU. And your testimony? It doesn't stop with you. It becomes someone else's turning point.

That's the ripple effect of surrender. One changed life pointing another person toward hope and freedom.
