For more than 100 years, volunteers known as Sertomans serve communities across the United States. Originally known as Co-Operative International, each member takes pride in the colorful history of the Co-Operative Club International and Sertoma International. This history is based upon information gleaned from old SERTOMAN and THE CO-OPERATOR magazines on file at Sertoma Headquar

Rowe, enticed community leaders to “get involved.” Now entering the 2nd Century of Service, Sertoma community leaders are engaged in improving the quality of life in communities by making a difference for those who suffer from hearing loss.

It is October 31, 1936. . . Meet Scotland Yard’s best Detectives: Hercule Purrow (Ryan Price), Mary Enola Holmes (Mary Weaver), and Miss Jane Marple (Sue Price). Okay... maybe they aren’t the best detectives, but they could use your help. They’ve been assigned a case at the English country estate, Conifers, the home of Sir Hugo Smythe Armbruster. Sir Hugo has been found to be a skeleton with no guts.

It is October 31, 1936. . . Meet Arthur MacKenzie (Troy Sartors), the editor of The Daily Truth. To him, only the truth will do. Arthur attended Sir Hugo’s Halloween birthday party dressed as Charlie Chaplin. He thought, “Why not. One last drink with Sir Hugo for old time’s sake.” But was it to be the last drink for only Arthur? The truth hurts, so what truth happened to Sir Hugo?

It is October 31, 1936. . . Meet Percival Bromley (Brian Patten), the stable groom. He had a way with horses and an interest in Sir Hugo’s social events. After a few pints of ale at the local pub, Percival has been known to make reference of his “real” father. However, everyone knows that Percival Bromley is not the type of person to seek revenge. Or is he? Is there a reason they call it a horse of a different color?

It is October 31, 1936. . . Meet Sheila Stanton (Madera Sartors), an artist. She was an uninvited guest at Sir Hugo’s Halloween birthday party who seemed out of place. Sheila’s costume, Girl with a Pearl Earring, pays homage to a Dutch artist, Johannes Vermeer. But now she has entered a a new phase in her art career... pottery. Working with clay can be a source of frustration, but has Sheila mastered the task of molding with her hands? Did she chisel and carve out a finished end to Sir Hugo?

It is October 31, 1936. . . Meet Maude Adamly (Brittany Pofahl), an actress. She has been starring in the play, “The Lady Likes To Live It Up” until her recent hiatus from the cast. Maude attended Sir Hugo’s Halloween birthday party dressed as a cat lady. Although there was a significant age difference, she found Sir Hugo to be quite attractive. Did love go wrong for Maude? Was it the kiss of death for Sir Hugo?

Her humble beginnings have produced potential wealth through her marriage to Albie. Before marriage, Rebecca was a seamstress who always had a desire for prosperity and wanted to “make a killing” in life. Has her aspiration caused a stitch in time that didn’t save Sir Hugo?

It is October 31, 1936. . . Meet Albert Hugo Armbruster (Jacob Cummins), although his friends call him Albie. He is Sir Hugo’s son and only heir. Albie has a reputation for fast cars and fast woman. He attended Sir Hugo’s Halloween birthday party dressed in a Marc Anthony costume. Albie and Sir Hugo shared a love for horses; but could it have been a source of disagreement that ended in a last place finish for Sir Hugo? Was Albie in a hurry for some quick cash that concluded his life?

Could Lily’s mints, left on the guest’s beds, have led to a sinister end? Was her intention to clean up the wrong doings at Conifer’s estate a disaster? After all, it is said, “Cleanliness is next to godliness.”
