Hi.
This is the Hammersmith Family.
Just wanted to let you know that we are planning to hold our annual (if there’s enough snow, lol), hot dog roast and bonfire on the 15th of February from 12- 2 pm. We already put our sign up at the top of our trail on Schaffer Rd and we were wondering if you would post it also on your site? We will put signs up directing everyone to the site on the day of. The access will be from Schaffer Rd Only.

Please!!!!!! Have respect for our neighbors that are willingly to let us use the Parking lot across from the fire house and at the road crossing on Walk rd. Please unload and proceed to the marked trail. Please don't use the field for a play ground. Loosing this area would be detrimental to the whole trail system. Thank you, Be Safe.

Trails are holding up great, some of the best riding in a few years! A special thank you to all that have contributed to the groomer donation box!!!!

Good morning! Our trails are open, the NYSSA app is not cooperating so that is why it hasn’t been updated. The lot across from the firehouse is plowed and has some parking. Trail master Jeff and Mark have been out and reporting good conditions. Use caution as there is not much for a base. Stay warm and please stay on the trail!

Beautiful morning to do some trail work. Not too bad after yesterday’s high winds. These trails exist due to our generous landowners and volunteers that do all of this behind the scenes. We’re ready for the white gold!!

12/15/2025

Well, we are getting close with 7 inches of snow; the trails are ready and waiting for more of the white gold. We hope everyone will please adhere to the signage. When heading towards Town Tavern from the parking lot, please go slow and be respectful to the residents at the Walk Road crossing. We would like to hear about any problems or safety concerns that anyone sees. Please ride to the right and treat our landowners with respect, because without them we have no trails to ride. Be safe and enjoy the winter to come.

Jeff has been out with the groomerthe last couple days, S95 is groomed from Momrow road all the way up to the last kiosk on S95 in CheryPlains park and S 95Ato C 9 intersection. Snow is good about 10" at this time.We will be out after the storm. Please Ride right be safe and respect all of our land owners. There have been issues up in the Cherry Plains Park with 4x4s and side by sides. The State has cameras and patrols in the area trying to stop the abusers. If anybody sees anyone doing damage to the trails please contact DEC, Forest Rangers or Black River Raiders so we all can have a fun safe ride.
Grafton has been all the way through to Cherry Plains also. Thank you in advance for being safe and respecting other riders. Ride Safe ,Ride Right.

Well it's here ,30 + inches of snow, about half of it is wet heavy and the last 12-15" is more powder. We have alot of low hanging tree branches, starting to get some drifting also. We will try to get out and pack the trails with just the groomer due to the snow depth
We only have one operator at this time who has to work and take care his own job and family. The parking lot is NOT open across fro. the fire house due to the feild being so soft. There will be parking for trailers at 1015 Bower Road off of Kipple road. Room for about 4-5 trailers. Run up the road ,when you see the clearing on the left( new state parking area under construction) Just before it is the old Bower rd. That we use for the groomer acsess, that will take you to s95. At the camp on the right take a left to head towards the fire house or the right just past it to head towards Cherry Plains State Park

Trails are open,S95Ato C9 has a water crossing, beavers are creating a Damon the north side of trail use cation it is marked with signs . We have some logging going on before the Momrow road crossing. Please use Caution, land owner asked loggers to keep trail open for us. S95 IS Passable please use caution on the lower end of Taborton, not as much snow before the climb to Kipple road. From there up spring conditions continue, Cherry Plains State Park is good out to Black River road. Last Sunday I rode to Grafton not awful bad but again spring conditions. The Parking lot across from the fire house is closed at this time due to the soft conditions land owner is asking us not to use it at this time. If the big snow comes Monday and Tuesday we are working on an alternative parking site a little further up which will get you on to S95 just below Dingman Road. I WILL KEEP UPDATING THE SITE AS I RECEIVE INFORMATION. THANK YOU and ride safe and hope to see you on the trail.
