~Hottest Conditions of the Year~
A short-lived, but dangerous heatwave are expected this weekend and into early next week. Sunday and Monday will likely have near-record high temperatures for portions of IA, MN, IL, SD, and NE. Combining temperatures of 95-105 degrees and dew points in the mid-70s to low 80s, heat indices will likely push to 105-115 degrees. This easily meets extreme heat warning threshold, and heat-related stress with no precautions, may occur in as little as 15-30 minutes.
