The River Pierce Foundation is proud to present an upcoming Flamenco Guitar Concert featuring Grisha Goryachev on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Trevino-Uribe Fort located at 604 Trevino in San Ygnacio, Texas. Doors will open at 4 pm. The concert will begin at 5 pm.

Enjoy a night under the stars at our historic fort located on the banks of the Rio Grande River. This intimate open-air concert is free and open to the public. We ask that everyone RSVP to this one-of-a-kind outdoor musical event at our website riverpierce.org.

Come experience Goryachev’s ability to blend the precision of classical music with the fiery passion of flamenco. Grisha’s performances are not just concerts; they are a journey through the rich history and vibrant soul of flamenco.

Grisha hails from St. Petersburg, Russia, and is renowned for his extraordinary classical & flamenco guitar talent. Beginning his musical journey at the age of six, Grisha quickly emerged as a child prodigy. By nine, he was already performing in prestigious concert halls across the Soviet Union, captivating audiences w/ his technical brilliance & emotional depth.

Grisha’s passion for flamenco deepened during a transformative tour of Spain, where he was invited to play for flamenco legend Paco de Lucía. Impressed by Grisha’s artistry, de Lucía personally supported his application for an American visa enabling him to share his unique blend of flamenco & classical guitar w/ audiences in the U.S. Now based in the U.S., Grisha is one of the few guitarists committed to reviving the tradition of solo flamenco guitar, a practice once mastered by legends like Ramón Montoya and Sabicas.

Vision

The River Pierce Foundation works to identify, conserve and make known the built vernacular and cultural heritage of the rural village of San Ygnacio, Texas, including the San Ygnacio Historic District (National Register of Historic Places 1973).

As protective stewards of this legacy, the Foundation contributes to an awareness of the Texas-Mexico borderlands, a landscape of farms, ranches, cities and towns that make up the Los Caminos del Rio Heritage Corridor of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. This region was named one of the nation’s most endangered historic sites by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Educational and training programs, residencies and special projects support the acquisition, preservation, and creative re-use of historic sites in San Ygnacio, with special emphasis on the early 19th century sandstone complex of the Treviño-Uribe Rancho. Sited on a bluff overlooking the Rio Grande, the Rancho was built in 1830 and designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Park System in 1998. This fortified complex is one of the few remaining vestiges of Spanish Colonial and Mexican periods of historical development in the region.

The River Pierce Foundation welcomes the support of individual donors as well as regional, national and international organizations similarly devoted to cultural interpretation and historic preservation.
