A major drug raid in Los Angeles is another reminder of what law enforcement agencies across the country are facing every day.

Federal and local authorities arrested 18 people in a Southern California operation targeting alleged fentanyl and methamphetamine distribution around MacArthur Park. According to the Department of Justice, 25 defendants were charged, 18 were arrested, and approximately 40 pounds of fentanyl was seized from one residence.

This is not just a “big city” issue.

Fentanyl, methamphetamine, cartel-linked distribution, drug trafficking, and violent crime do not stop at city limits. These threats impact major metro areas, suburban communities, rural counties, and small departments with limited budgets and limited equipment.
