⚠️🌧️UPDATE: Due to high chance of rain, the annual broom pull is moved to Saturday April 18th!🌧️⚠️

🏵️Please join us for our annual broom pull on Sat, April 18th 9am to noon. Come join your friends and neighbors to do something positive for your community.

🧯Every pull helps protect our community. By clearing invasive Scotch and French broom, you’re removing highly flammable ‘ladder fuels’ that can turn a ground fire into a catastrophic crown fire. Join us to strip away the fuel, restore our native landscape, and build a more fire-resilient neighborhood—one shrub at a time!

🌾🚒This year’s event will be in partnership with Friends of China Camp (FOCC) and the San Rafael Fire Dept. Meet us and sign in at the table on Biscayne Drive near the intersection with Point San Pedro Road. The area marked in red on the map is the area where we’ll be working. RSVP From the link in our profile page. 🔗

The County and the City of San Rafael invite the community to join an open house on Friday, April 17, from 5-6:30 PM at San Pedro Elementary School Multipurpose Room regarding the road improvements.

The corridor projects include:
🚦HAWK Pedestrian Signal Installation at Summit Avenue
🚧Retaining Wall Replacement
🛣️Slurry Seal and re-striping of Point San Pedro Road

🐦‍⬛Birds are migrating north along the Pacific Flyway until May, so it is a wonderful opportunity to view them in transit as they make their way home.

📸Bird expert Rich Cimino will lead a free tour at McNears Beach Park on Wednesday, April 8 @ 9 a.m. and share fascinating information and insights about the different birds that we view there.

🎟️Not to be missed! Space is limited; be sure to register on the link in our bio before this event fills up!

🌎Rich Cimino has 58 years of birding experience in Northern California and is the owner and guide for Yellow Billed Tours. He has led annual field trips to destinations across the Western Hemisphere, including Alaska and Colombia for 25 years.

🦋Donations to Niven Park Point Butterfly Garden appreciated.

🧑🏻‍🚒Firewise Information Session – April 18th

🏫If your neighborhood is not already a Firewise Community, please come to Coleman Elementary School Gymnasium at 10am on Sat, April 18th to learn about Firewise communities and how to start one in your neighborhood.

🧯Firewise USA is a national program that encourages neighbors to work together to reduce wildfire risks. The San Pedro Road Coalition strongly encourages all communities in the east San Rafael area to form Firewise neighborhoods and work together to make our communities safer.

🏡To date, Bayside Acres, Country Club, Dominican, Glenwood, Knoll, Peacock Point, and San Pedro Cove neighborhoods have become Firewise.

🤑Their residents not only work together to mitigate wildfire danger but receive substantial discounts on their homeowner’s insurance policies.

Register for this event in the link on our main page!
