UPDATE, 6/16: North San Pedro Rd. is now open.

A section of North San Pedro Rd, just west of Buckeye Point, is still under construction with a tentative end date of July 3rd. The road is open but reduced to one lane at the construction site, with traffic controlled by a metered light. Please allow for extra time as delays are possible.

Our neighbors over at Friends of China Camp are hosting a vibrant Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration in the historic village—you won’t want to miss it! 🌎🤝❤️

⏰Time: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

💲Cost: Free ($5 parking fee at China Camp Village lot)

Presented in partnership with California State Parks, the event will feature lion dancers, engaging speakers, and hands-on kids’ crafts. You can also connect with local organizations, including the Marin Chinese Cultural Association, Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation, Angel Island State Park, Marin History Museum, the National Estuarine Research Reserve, and more. 🐉

Don’t miss a special walking tour of the historic village led by Milton Quan, one of the last residents of China Camp Village. Plus, enter the raffle for a chance to win fun prizes! 🥳

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE:

On Monday, April 27, the County of Marin Public Works Department will begin repairs to realign a section of North San Pedro Road just to the west of Buckeye Point. The target completion date is May 15. A 0.6-mile section of road will be fully closed to all vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians every Monday morning through Friday evening. The road will reopen to one lane of alternating traffic each Friday at approximately 5:30 p.m., closing again on Mondays at 7 a.m. when construction resumes.

What - Pile burns help State Parks manage invasive plants and dead wood that have accumulated in the absence of historically frequent, low intensity fires.
• When: Starting Wednesday April 15th and continuing through Thursday April 16’h as conditions permit.
• Where: Adjacent the Ranch Meadows Campground.
• Who: California State Parks and Marin County Fire Department Personnel
• No Trail or Campsite Closures are planned. Please use caution when near burn operations and follow directions from posted signs and fire personnel.
• Smoke Advisory: Those traveling near the burn areas may see flames and smoke from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on burn days, with minimal smoke visible the following day in some areas. Please do not call 9-1-1 to report this permitted burn.

• When: Starting Monday March 16th and continuing through Thursday March 19th as conditions permit.

• Where: Along Shoreline, Peacock Gap and Oak Ridge Trails at China Camp State Park above Ranger Station.

• Who: California State Parks and Marin County Fire Department Personnel

• Peacock Gap Trail & the east end of Oakridge Trail will be clsoed from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on burn days.

• Smoke Advisory: Those traveling near the burn areas may see flames and smoke from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on burn days, with minimal smoke visible the following day in some areas. Please do not call 9-1-1 to report this permitted burn.
