May is National Mental Health Awareness Month.

Did you know that children who have at least one safe and stable relationship with an adult are less likely to experience depression, major depressive disorder, anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder and perceived stress later in life?

Our CASA volunteers are equipped with extensive training to provide advocacy and connect children and youth to the services they need to thrive. Their consistent presence helps children feel supported, seen, and safe.

Did you know that over half of the children entering foster care across our state are under the age of five? Many of these children enter the system due to abuse and neglect, experiencing a great deal of trauma at a very young age.

That's where our CASA volunteers step in - they build consistent and caring relationships with the children they serve. Those safe and stable adult-child relationships remain the greatest factor in mitigating the harm that children in the foster care system have experienced.
