Art gallery showcasing works by area artists, plus three regional and/or national shows per year. The main gallery showcases a new display of original art every month, most of it available for purchase. Our flex gallery and lower level galleries feature the art works of member artists, rotating on a regular basis. An online rental gallery is available to rent works for your home or office.

MATERIALS MATTER is the new exhibition opening this week at Marin Society of Artists, San Rafael. This juried fine arts exhibit features 33 Northern California artists, 51 works of art that explore the range of materials from clay, stone, metal, wood, fiber and more.
Join us Friday, June 12th for the opening reception, 5-8pm, meet the artists and show juror, Susan Press, enjoy the art, music and light refreshments; and great conversation.

Pom Pom Mobile Making

Create a joyful, colorful Pom Pom Mobile using yarn, simple tools, and playful construction techniques. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore balance, rhythm, and color while designing a sculptural hanging piece inspired by folk traditions and contemporary textile art. Perfect for all skill levels. Leave with a finished mobile—and the skills to keep making more.

Exhibition dates: June 10 to July 6, 2026

All styles of Sculpture, Ceramic and Assemblage, and all materials including clay, metal, stone, fabric and more are accepted. Fee to enter. Cash awards.

Open to all artists in Northern California, age 18 and over. Exhibition will be held in our San Rafael Gallery. All works must be hand delivered - no mail in or commercial delivery will be accepted.

Juror: Susan Press. Susan is known for her whimsical sculptures. Using clay with mixed media and found objects, her work is illustrative, entertaining and often humorous.

Are you exploring new directions, a new series, a new subject matter in your work—this exhibit is for you.

Open to all artists, 18+ years old, in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. You are invited to submit digital images of up to six (6) of your original works, not previously shown in a Marin Society of Artists juried exhibition. Open to all media except video, film, and installation art. Fee to enter.

Only online entries via EntryThingy with digitally uploaded images will be accepted. Juried selected entries will be notified by email from [email protected] of accepted and non-accepted work.

JUROR: Carol Tarzier. Carol’s focus is figurative work in bronze and painting in oil, with ventures into abstract sculpture and pastel drawings on black Arches. Her work has been shown in numerous national exhibitions and has earned national awards. She taught for many years for the Academy of Art University and currently teaches Landscape and Figure for Rossmoor Art Association in Walnut Creek.
