Tim works behind the scenes in ways that most people never see, building and maintaining the Salesforce systems that keep our entire organization running. Across every department, the data infrastructure he's created helps us do our work more effectively. From tracking services and outcomes to supporting the grant reporting, Tim is invaluable in keeping our programs funded and our doors open. That kind of work is quiet, complex, and absolutely essential.

Tim, thank you for five years of showing up with skill, dedication, and care for this mission! We're so grateful you're part of the team!

Yesterday, we gathered at the shelter for a special Motherโ€™s Day celebration honoring our guests and their children. Over a shared meal, we reflected on the mothers and mother figures who have shaped our lives with love, strength, and care.

For some, Motherโ€™s Day carries complicated emotions and is not a holiday they would typically celebrate. We are grateful they felt safe enough to share their stories and be in community with us. We honor their experiences, their resilience, and their healingโ€”today and every day. ๐Ÿ’•

Weโ€™re also deeply thankful for the advocates who show up for survivors with compassion and care each and every day. Here are a few highlights from this meaningful gathering.

Motherโ€™s Day can hold many emotions. For some, itโ€™s a day of joy and celebration. For others, it may bring grief, distance, or complex memories. Wherever you find yourself today, your experience is valid.

At Center for Domestic Peace, we honor all who nurture, protect, and care for othersโ€”especially those doing so while navigating hardship, healing, or rebuilding. We see your strength, your love, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going.

Today, we hold space for every version of motherhood and every path that brought you here. You deserve safety, dignity, and peaceโ€”not just today, but every day. ๐Ÿ’›

Organizations across the state that support survivors of crime are bracing for a second consecutive year of federal funding cuts. VOCA funding is criticalโ€”it helps provide counseling for survivors of s*xual assault, trauma-informed interviews for children experiencing abuse, and safe housing for those escaping domestic violence.

Weโ€™re urging the state to step in with sustained funding to bridge the gap until Californiaโ€™s Crime Victims Fund is fully established. For
the second year in a row, weโ€™re calling on to stand with survivors and the organizations that serve them.

๐Ÿ“ข Headed to Sacramento this week

Our team is traveling to Sacramento to advocate for vital funding for survivor services through the Crime Victims Fund (CVF).

CVF dollars support emergency housing, counseling, legal advocacy, and more for survivors of crime across California. With deep cuts to VOCA funding, these critical servicesโ€”and the survivors who rely on themโ€”are at risk.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Take action: Contact your legislators today and urge them to protect and stabilize CVF funding:

It is a time to celebrate the richness, resilience, and diversity of AAPI communities across the country and right here in Marin.

It's also a time to name something important: domestic violence is significantly underreported in AAPI communities, which means many survivors are navigating abuse without access to support. The reasons are complex and vary widely but the result is the same: people who deserve help aren't always getting it.

At Center for Domestic Peace, we're committed to showing up for every survivor, without judgment, and without assumptions about what their experience should look like.

If you or someone you love needs help, we're here. Interpreter services are available at no cost.

The trauma of abuse doesn't end when someone leaves. It shows up in the body, in sleep, in relationships, in the way a person moves through the world. That's why mental health support is woven into everything we offer. From individual and family therapy to peer-led support groups in English and Spanish, to specialized services for children who have witnessed violence, we meet survivors where they are and walk alongside them for as long as they need. Healing looks different for everyone, and it rarely moves in a straight line. What matters most is that no one has to figure it out alone.

If you or someone you love is carrying the weight of domestic violence, whether you're still in it or years out- support is here.

๐Ÿพ For many survivors, leaving means leaving their pet behind.

For many survivors, their pet is one of the hardest parts of making the decision to leave. But you don't have to choose between your safety and your pet's. C4DP can work with you and your family to help find a safe solution, when you are ready. Through our partnership with , we connect survivors with pet fostering resources so no one has to face that impossible choice alone.

You deserve safety. So does your pet.

April 29 is Denim Day ๐Ÿ’™ Today, the staff of Center for Domestic Peace stand together in denim to show our support for survivors and to raise awareness about s*xual violence. What someone wears is never an excuseโ€”consent is the only thing that matters.

We wear denim to challenge harmful myths, support survivors, and commit to building a community rooted in respect and safety for all.

No matter your style, wear something denim tomorrow, April 29th, to support survivors of s*xual assault.

Wondering what jeans have to do with s*xual violence? In 1999, an 18 year old Italian girl was r***d by the instructor teaching her her very first driving lesson. Though he was convicted, in a later appeal, the court argued that "because the victim wore very tight jeans, she had to help him remove them and by removing the jeans, it was no longer r**e, but consensual s*x." Enraged, women in the Italian Parliament protested by wearing jeans on the steps of the Italian Supreme Court. Inspired by this powerful display of resistance, LA's Peace Over Violence began organizing Denim Day, which became a global, award winning r**e prevention campaign.
