We are incredibly proud of our very own Tiffany Nemo, a member of the Center for Domestic Peace team, who will be sharing her survivor testimony this Sunday at First Missionary Baptist Churchโ€™s Worship in Purple service.

Sharing oneโ€™s story takes courage, and when survivors choose to use their voices, they remind us of the power of healing, hope, and resilience.

On October 6th, Center for Domestic Peace and College of Marin brought together survivors, advocates, healthcare professionals, public servants, students, and community members for a powerful and timely conversation about domestic violence homicide prevention.

Purple is a quiet way of saying: we see you, we believe you, and you deserve safety, dignity, and support on your own terms. We wear it for the survivors in our community, for those still figuring out what they need, and for the loved ones we hold in memory.

Center for Domestic Peace extends our sincere gratitude to the Marin County Board of Supervisors, especially Supervisor Mary Sackett, for recognizing our contributions to the community and proclaiming October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This recognition comes at an especially difficult moment for our community. We are heartbroken by the recent tragedy, and our thoughts are with the surviving family members, loved ones, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and everyone affected. This moment is also a painful reminder of why Domestic Violence Awareness Month matters. Domestic violence can affect people in every community, across neighborhoods, professions, and circumstances. Each year, we gather to remember the lives taken by domestic violence and to stand beside the survivors who continue to rebuild with courage and hope. This is a space for reflection, healing, and connection, where every person is welcome and every story matters.

Whether you come to honor someone you've lost, to support survivors, or simply to be present with your community, your presence brings comfort and solidarity to those who need it most.
