Stephanie Lopez was a keynote presenter at the 4th Annual New Jersey Integrated Mental Health Conference this week, an event that brought together mental health professionals, practitioners, and community leaders to explore integrated approaches to healing and wellbeing.

When she wasn't presenting she made time to enjoy the beach, the water, the fresh air, and a moment to rest in Presence.

Love to Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Thank you to Emily Smith @ Yogaversity for the beautiful photo.

Welcoming is one of the foundational principles of iRest Yoga Nidra.

At first, Welcoming can seem like a practice of accepting people, situations, thoughts, emotions, and sensations exactly as they are.

But over time, something shifts.

Our attention moves from what is being Welcomed to Welcoming itself.

We discover that Welcoming is not something we do. It is our essential nature. And as we begin to live in Welcoming for its own sake, we experience the freedom, ease, and joy that arise when we stop arguing with life.

As Richard Miller writes:

"Suffering is our refusal to be with life as it is."

Through the eyes of Welcoming, we begin to see that there is no separate self and no separate other. Separation exists only as a projection of the divided mind.

What in your experience is asking to be Welcomed today?

This is a sweet exchange between Fuyuko Toyota and Jennifer Cabanero about their upcoming retreat, Opening the Wisdom of the Heart. They explore how the heart carries its own wisdom and how we can learn to trust the inner guidance that is always present and leading us.

Love, truth, authenticity, and freedom awaken when we realize our essential nature, which is always patiently waiting to be recognized. Retreat is the time when we open and nourish coming home to our deepest essence that is indestructible, grounded, and full of aliveness. When we embody this homecoming, we open a door to the unexpected—clarity, wonder, and joy.

Join Stephanie Lopez as we explore the dimensions of the heart of awakening. Using guided iRest yoga nidra, silent meditation, interactive dialogue, and gentle movement and breathing practices that impart deep relaxation, we will explore the nondual heart of meditation—a flowering of freedom that invites you to remember your essential nature, an unshakable wholeness that underlies all of existence.

Join iRest President, Stephanie Lopez, for a meditation designed to explore what is most essential about you. We each have a natural or awake awareness that is present moment-to-moment. However, as we live our daily life we generally focus on the objects in our environment or in our minds such as sensations, emotions, and thoughts. This 35-minute meditation will support you to shift attention from changing objects and let attention land within unchanging awareness itself where your innate sense of ease and stillness may shine through.

During retreat, many moments are simple and shared.

You sit down for a meal in an open space surrounded by jungle. Food is placed before you. Conversation moves easily between silence and connection.

There’s nothing you need to do, nowhere else to be.

For many, this sense of ease in community becomes just as meaningful as the meditation itself.

Our upcoming retreat in Costa Rica (July 1–8) with Richard Miller is taking shape.

Meditation is not addition. It's subtraction. Take away all that you believe yourself to be, and you rest in the unconditioned fullness of love.

Friendship can grow in unexpected ways, including through meditation.

In this conversation, iRest trainers Jennifer Cabanero and Fuyoko Toyota reflect on the friendship they have built through years of shared practice, listening, and being together in community.

Their upcoming retreat invites you to explore that same spirit of connection, with yourself, with others, and with the quiet wisdom of the heart.
