We created this page in 2010 upon learning about the dire plight our American wild horses and b***os are in, to create mass awareness to manifest wild horse and b***o freedom and their right to survive and thrive here in America -in peace to be honored, and to uphold and strengthen protections by Action and Law of The Wild Horse & B***o Protection Act 1971. We save wild horses while also saving wi

ld land and water’s wellness. This past year with the help of our supporters-we helped to save the lives of more than 70 horses from slaughter & we facilitated the ReWilding of 20 at risk horses and are presently seeking and working to secure more land to open for wild equine and wildfire protection-abatement natural grazing land healing management studies. Together we are bringing science based indigenous and natural compassionate practices forward to shift the wild horse management paradigm to positive sustainable solutions. We support like minded wild equine preservation rescues and environmental protection organizations, hold peaceful wild equine informative gatherings, share equine educational stories, offer daily, weekly, actions- empower the voice of the people (in ways that you can help our wild horses and b***os and the land and water they live upon live and be well~), we post news, research and attend wild horse & b***o adoption/event/roundup/ and BLM meetings to document for research and true understanding. We are building a movement here to save & Love Wild Horses and are now 692,000 + strong!

Meet Tečhihila ( I love you in Lakota). We saved his Mama, Olowan, (A song that gives life purpose in Lakota) from slaughter along with 9 other Warm Springs, OR native wild horses. Shortly after that groups arrival from Oregon to northern Nevada, we learned Olowan and 2 other mares from this group were carrying foals… Techihilia, now 3 years old, is one of them🙏 💕🍼🐴✨

Luckily we saved this sacred band and with the help of our partner and supporters or this precious soul would have been slaughtered, as well as along with his Mama and before he was even born 🥲

Thanks to the tireless work of Love Wild Horses’ amazing team and supporters, they now roam free and forever safe on 500 acres in Northern Nevada amongst a herd of 22 wild horses all saved from slaughter who are participating in 1 of 3 of our LWH Rewilding & Land Resilience Projects underway in Northern Nevada, Wyoming, and California.

With each new project we start, more wild horses whose freedom has been stolen, will be returned back to protected land to roam free! Your support is what makes our work possible. Scenes like this remind us exactly why this work matters.

Witnessing this heartfelt scene of the newest foal born being nuzzled by its mama at our Rewilding & Land Resilience Project on Eastern Shoshone’s, Austin Hill and Bobbi Shongutsie’s sacred land on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, filled our hearts with gratitude and hope.

Through our partnership, we have the privilege of watching something truly sacred unfold before our eyes.

To stand on this land and experience it…the sites, the sounds, and the fragrances are difficult to put into words. The land has a powerful heartbeat. The horses belong here. Their return is not an introduction…it is a homecoming.

Wild horses, the indigenous people and these landscapes evolved together, shaping and supporting one another in a natural relationship that benefited the entire ecosystem.

Seeing mares raise their foals on this sacred land is a powerful reminder that nature has always known its way, long before man.

This new foal represents more than a birth. It represents renewal. It represents resilience. It represents the beautiful full circle of wild horses returning to the landscapes where they have always belonged. Every hoof print on this land offers hope for the future.

We are deeply honored to be part of this journey and profoundly grateful to our Eastern Shoshone partners for helping make this vision a reality.

The horses are home. The land is healing. And the circle continues.

In wild horse herds, the stallions often take on the role of sentinels, standing guard while the rest of the herd rests or naps. This behavior serves as a survival strategy, allowing the group to remain vigilant against potential threats such as predators or rival herds.

We are so pleased to report that our Rewilding & Land Resilience Project in Northern California is doing exceptionally well.

The horses are settling in beautifully, exploring their new home and embracing the freedom to live as wild horses once again. It warms our hearts to witness them finding their place on the landscape.

Just as importantly, the land is appreciating their presence. With each passing day, we are seeing the relationship between horse and habitat unfold as nature intended. The horses are once again becoming part of the ecosystem, contributing to the natural processes that help create healthier, more resilient landscapes.

This is what rewilding is all about—restoring balance, rebuilding relationships between wildlife and the land, and allowing nature to do what it does best.

Thank you to everyone who supports this important work. Together, we are creating a future where wild horses and wild lands can thrive side by side.

There are moments in life when you step onto a piece of land and feel, deep in your soul, that it is sacred. That is exactly how we feel when standing on Bobbi & Austin’s Eastern Shoshone ancestral land on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, where our Love Wild Horses Foundation Rewilding & Land Resilience Project continues to grow.

This project is so much more than conservation of wild horses. It is a spiritual connection between the horses, the land, the people, and the natural balance that once existed everywhere across this country.

Out here, surrounded by untouched open spaces, wild grasses, and the freedom of the horses, it feels like stepping back into a world that remembers how things are supposed to be.

The land here is alive. It breathes with history, wisdom, and resilience. Watching the wild horses move across this landscape reminds us that nature does not need domination — it needs respect, protection, and the chance to heal itself.

We are deeply honored to work with our Eastern Shoshone partners in this work on such beautiful ancestral land. Every sunrise, every new foal, every moment spent here reinforces why rewilding matters so deeply for the future of our planet.

This is the way it’s supposed to be. Wild horses on wild land, in balance with nature. And witnessing it is nothing short of sacred. 🐴🙏🏽🌾✨

On this beautiful ancestral Eastern Shoshone land on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, two precious new foals were born into the heard to run free across the untouched landscape of our Love Wild Horses Foundation Rewilding & Land Resilience Project.

In this photo, these beautiful babies stand beside their wild family beneath endless Wyoming skies, not only a gift and a blessing to our project, but symbols of hope for the future of wild horse rewilding and land resilience.

This land is profoundly spiritual. It feels like stepping back into time… untouched, wild, balanced, and exactly the way the Earth was meant to look. The beauty of these ancestral Eastern Shoshone lands leaves us humbled beyond words every single day.

A heartfelt thank you to Bobbi & Austin for partnering with us to make this beautiful vision a reality. We are deeply grateful for your trust, support, and shared commitment to the horses, the land, and the future generations who will benefit from this work. We look forward to growing this project together for many years to come.

Checking in from the road! ❤️🐎🚙 Happy Memorial Day!!!

Love Wild Horses Foundation’s President, Jetara Séhart and National Coordinator, Jackie Oliveri are on the tail end of their 2,200+ mile journey across the American West, visiting our Rewilding & Land Resilience Project sites through 4 states in just 6 days.

It has been a grueling trek filled with long hours, endless miles, dust, wind, and little sleep — but there is absolutely nowhere else they would rather be! As always, the journey has been nothing short of magical.

They wanted to quickly check in and let everyone know they are tired, but doing well… and most importantly, the horses and lands are thriving.

From Northern California to Northern Nevada, Utah and Wyoming, the rewilded horse herds are prospering, the landscapes are responding beautifully, and the powerful connection between wild horses and healthy ecosystems continues to reveal itself in beautiful ways.

More spectacular photos, footage, and updates coming soon!

Thank you to everyone supporting this vital work we are doing and standing with America’s wild horses. ❤️🐴🌎

We invite you to be part of this exciting journey by making a tax-deductible donation — even just $5 or $8, the cost of a cup of coffee ☕️ or a gallon of gas ⛽️, helps support this critical work.

To donate now, please click here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=S4FUNNY3FB9LG&ssrt=1779473577627
