Yokkaichi Long Beach Sister City Sister City organizaion from Long Beach partnerning with Yokkaichi, Japan. Activiies include YEF, Trio, Dr. Exchange, Environmental Summit.

Numerous citizens in both countries established in 1963 the first and one of the most successful sister cities. Exchange between sister citiies-Long Beach, California and Yokkaichi, Japan. Both cities are strongly influenced by the proximity of Ports, inlcuding commerence, sports, and environmental issues . Programs include the following: TRIO-1 Teacher & 2 students visit the host city each year.

YEF-7 graduates of Cal Sate Long Bach work for 2 years as English teaching assistants. PHYSICIAN EXCHANGE-Doctors from Yokkaichi visit to study medical issues at Memorial Hospital. ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMIT-4 students & 1 teacher go to ICETT in Japan to study & exchange environmental ideas with students from Japan & China.
