As our Deputy Policy Director Chris Chavez explains: “Your car’s tires can greatly impact fuel efficiency. Having inefficient tires causes your car’s engine to work harder and burn more gas. This pollutes our air and costs you money. The Energy Commission's new rules… will ensure your tires aren't putting a drag on your car – and your pocketbook.”

We had a great time at both the Southeast Rio Vista Family YMCA and the Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA Back to School events! Through the AirAware project, we’re not only monitoring indoor air quality in these YMCAs — we’re also making real improvements with air purifiers and resources.

Families joined us for fun activities and took home helpful tools to stay 'air‑aware.' Huge thanks to both Ys for welcoming us and to everyone who stopped by our table! 💙💨🤝

📢 In port communities like West Oakland, residents are exposed to SIX TIMES more diesel pollution than people in other neighborhoods.

This pollution is linked to higher rates of asthma, heart disease, stroke, and other serious health harms.

That's why California's shipping waivers matter.

The EPA's effort to dismantle these protections would put community health at risk.
