We were just informed of the passing of one of our oldest members and longest members of the San Pedro Kiwanis club. Chris Wantanabe, Chris served his treasure president secretary I don’t think there was a position that Chris didn’t serve as,. Chris enjoyed going to the botanical gardens and volunteering there. I’m know that was one of his favorite places. Chris will truly be missed in the San Pedro area. Once we find out the families wishes, we will pass them on here. Please keep his wife and daughter and your prayers and thoughts. Thank you.

Our Economic Empowerment Committee presents the 8th Annual Women’s Empowerment Tea and Scholarship Fundraiser. This year’s theme, Celebrating Our Trailblazers, will honor courageous Black women who have led the way, breaking barriers and achieving remarkable milestones.

Proceeds will fund the Marva Smith Battle Bey Academic and Dr. Thelma Eaton Intergenerational scholarships. These scholarship programs provide financial support to deserving high school seniors who strive to reach their academic goals and women seeking professional development training to enter or re-enter the workforce.
