A fourth-grade boy from Florida was bullied for wearing a homemade University of Tennessee shirt, where he had simply taped a hand-drawn “UT” logo onto an orange T-shirt. After his teacher shared the story online, it quickly went viral and caught the attention of the university. The University of Tennessee decided to turn his design into an official shirt, refining it but keeping the original spirit intact. The shirt became a massive success, with over 50,000 sold — and proceeds donated to the anti-bullying nonprofit, Stomp Out Bullying.
To honor the boy’s creativity and resilience, UT extended a heartwarming gesture: they offered him honorary admission to the Class of 2032 along with a four-year scholarship covering tuition and fees, provided he meets admission requirements in the future. What began as a moment of teasing turned into a national story of kindness, inclusion, and empowerment — proving that one small act of courage can inspire thousands.
