Our Story

Los Angeles Surf is focused on high-quality teams competing at the highest levels in their respective age groups. The playing philosophy of the club is centered around two main components: possession and pressure. In possession, ball circulation and player spacing is rehearsed to move the opponent and create gaps so the ball can be played forward through the lines. Out of possession, there is immediate pressure on the ball. This pressure is choreographed, increasing the chance of regaining possession and the support around the ball upon transition. Individual technique is prioritized at every session to ensure the players develop with the ball at their feet and are able to confidently dribble into space, complete passes and finish opportunities. From this technical foundation our teams operate tactically as a collective, not as individuals, with the girls trained to recognize and provide options for one another and make the appropriate decision.
