Thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday for Conservation Club Family Fun Day! Families explored educational booths, collected stamps in their passports, and earned a special Spring Lake patch and an invitation to join our Conservation Club.

We’re grateful to longtime supporter for helping make Family Fun Days free for families. And BIG shout out to the activity leaders who made Saturday so much fun: .smtx 💙

⭐️ Visitor Review ⭐️

“Such a unique experience at the Meadows Center. The tour guide on the glass-bottom boat was so knowledgeable about the rich history of the area and the nature inside it.

The actual center was cool too (literally, the AC works well); they have a free museum featuring some endangered species local to the area and a lot of information about Texas native wildlife and plants.

The grounds around Spring Lake have a ton of walking trails, including a boardwalk. You do need to pay for parking, they have a sign with a QR code linked for payment. Despite that, there is a lot of room to park.

It can be hot, so be sure to bring portable fans, sunscreen, and water. And remember to leave no trace. It is a protected area!"

Not your average bottle of water! 💧 ’s Director of Watershed Studies Jenna Walker caught up with TXST Ingram School of Engineering's Dr. Keisuke Ikehata yesterday at the 2026 WateReuse Texas Conference.

Dr. Ikehata presented on the San Marcos Direct Potable Reuse Pilot 2.0. And the bottle? It contains purified recycled water produced through the pilot using treated wastewater from the San Marcos Wastewater Treatment Plant!!

Love to see this innovative water research happening right here in San Marcos. Way to represent, Bobcats! 🐾
