Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. :-) We do not take it lightly that you have. Gsus Harmonies Nonprofit is owned and operated by Board Certified Music Therapists (MT-BCs) who are also professional musicians. With their 40+ combined years of training, playing, and performing experiences, our music therapists bring to the organization their performing experience, training, musical kno
wledge, and expertise across many styles of music. Our goal here at Gsus Harmonies Nonprofit is to provide live music playing and performing experiences for and with the outlying community, with a special focus for those with special needs. Because what we do at Gsus Harmonies Nonprofit is based in Music Therapy, participants and performers are comprised of those within the special needs classifications. Our organization and ensembles are open to those within the gerontology community, the intellectually disabled community, the developmentally disabled community, the physically disabled community, and the medical and rehabilitating community. In addition, our organization and ensembles are also open to those who just want to have some fun making music and have the opportunity to be the change they want to see within their community. Gsus Harmonies Nonprofit offers a few opportunities for making music to our participants with our:
Gsus Harmonies Chimers: Participants in the chiming group will be asked a small fee of $50 per season or $200 per year. Participation in the chime group is limited to those with special needs (intellectually and/or developmentally disabled) and for functionality, will also be limited to 20 individuals. Gsus Harmonies Joyful Noise Community Chorus: Participants in the chorus will be asked a small fee of $50 per season or $200 per year. Participation in this group is not based upon previous choral experience or sight-reading abilities. For functionality, this ensemble will be limited to 50 individuals. Gsus Harmonies Nonprofit also offers a few opportunities to be part of the experience to our music making participants with our:
Gsus Harmonies Shadows: Shadows are an integral part to the functioning of our programs. The job of a shadow is to assist the individuals with special needs in the ex*****on of cues and other tasks given. Gsus Harmonies Community Music Makers: Music Makers are an integral part of the functioning of our programs. Music Makers is a voluntary position. The job of a Music Maker is to provide the band and/or orchestral accompaniment for our chiming and choral ensembles. Gsus Harmonies Supporters/Partners:
As a nonprofit organization, Gsus Harmonies relies on charitable donations from the community, individual community members, and monies raised through fundraising projects to provide for all of our needs. Currently Gsus Harmonies Nonprofit is trying to raise $30,000 for our performing ensembles to purchase Suzuki ToneChime Bars and Orff instruments, a concert PA system, and performance equipment. We are also always accepting new or gently used musical instruments that can be used by music therapy clients throughout the course of treatment. Every little bit helps and there is no charitable donation minimum amount. Specific criteria for participation in any group is available on our website.
