Shoreline Cleanup Success — Join Us for the Next One!

On April 5th, we hosted a successful shoreline cleanup at Canyon Lake Marina, just below Breakwater Cantina. With only two weeks’ notice, an impressive 50 volunteers showed up to make a difference. Special thanks to Green Guy Recycling for their generous donation of time and resources.

Together, we removed:
• 11,720 lbs of scrap metal
• 4,860 lbs of general trash
• 172 lbs of old batteries

Additionally, several large, abandoned anchors were cleared from the marina area, significantly improving safety for boaters.

We’re now preparing for our next cleanup event on Mother’s Day Weekend — Friday, May 10th, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. With your help, we hope to double the amount of debris removed.

Volunteers: No registration is required. Simply arrive at 9:00 AM with gloves and sturdy shoes. We welcome anyone who wants to contribute to this meaningful effort to protect and restore our shoreline.

We thought it would be time to start posting articles regarding Capes Dam. The good news is that the city has started moving forward with an attempt to rebuild Capes Dam.
