WITH GRATITUDE AND LOVE TO LEE IKELS

The Hays County Child Protective Board sadly acknowledges the July 6 passing of long-time board member, Lee Ikels.

A New Braunfels native, Lee served on the HCCPB for many years, including 10 years as President. Lee brought energy and enthusiasm to his many years of service, always advocating for the children in the care of Child Protective Services. He also served for many years on the Regional Council of Child Welfare Boards, as well as the State Council. He worked tirelessly to advocate for children in foster care, and to build awareness of child abuse and neglect.

Lee was actively involved in numerous other community organizations, including the San Marcos Lions Club and the First United Methodist Church in San Marcos.
The board extends its profound sympathy to Lee’s wife, Ann, and to his entire family.

Thank you, Lee, for your exceptional dedication and service.
