Yesterday Chief Stephens retired after 17 years as the San Marcos Fire Chief and almost 4 decades in the fire service. We would like to thank him for his many years of dedicated service to the city, and this department. You have left this department better than you found it and set us up for success in the future. Thank you Chief and enjoy your retirement.

We all know how quickly things can change around here so please watch your local weather channel for current updates. Remember, Turn Around Don't Drown.

A slow moving cold front will bring multiple chances for heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding late today through Friday. Chances for heavy rain and flash flooding are highest Wednesday night into Friday. Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with isolated higher amounts up to 8 inches are possible. Monitor trusted sources for forecast updates as we move through the work week.
