Thank you to all of the candidates who made time to the first congressional candidate forum, for the CA50 primary, organized by students. We deeply care about the issues affecting our communities here in the 50th district and believe in educating our communities on elections and candidates. We think it’s important for candidates to show up to LatinX events, not just use our identities to further their campaigns.

Thank you to all of the attendees who took time out of their days to come and listen to some of the candidates running for Congress in the 50th district and for asking important questions.

Thank you to the League of Women Voters for moderating the forum & for guiding us on how to plan a fair, educational candidate forum.

We hope to host more community events to educate and enlighten LatinX communities on the various issues affecting us.

*Candidates Present*

José Cortés (Peace and Freedom Party of California)

Helen Horvath (Independent)

Lucinda Jahn (Independent)

Nathan Wilkins (R)

We need to use our privilege to stand for marginalized folk in our communities, and this time, we took a stand for our undocumented familia to show that we stand in solidarity with them and that we will fight for them ✊✊✊ Thank you again for all those present. There is word that they will be rescheduling their event for another time & we will be ready to take a stand against this terrorist organization ✊¡LA LUCHA SIGUE!
