⚜️💚 Here is the Krewe’s official poster for Mardi Gras 2026!

Artist, Sarah Swinford, is our 2026 poster artist. Sarah is currently a senior at Texas State University, pursuing a BFA in Studio Art with an emphasis on printmaking and sculpture.

“I believe that culture and community are the cornerstones of humanity, and much of my art reflects my love of murals, tattoo art, and traditional artesanías. I am very grateful to the Mistick Krewe of Okeanos for giving me this opportunity to grow as an artist and learn more about the beautiful tradition of Mardi Gras.” - Sarah Swinford

This poster features Okeanos on his hippocampus, wielding a trident topped with a fleur-de-lis as they charge through crashing waves. The main image is framed within a stone archway and flowing banner, complete with a royal crown, seashell, and Mardi Gras beads. Printed on 130 lb cover paper with acrylic inks, this four-layer screenprint uses color overlap, hatching, and half-tone dots to form a concise yet intricate visual narrative. References to Greek sculptures, Japanese woodblock prints, and iconic Mardis Gras imagery inspired the design as it developed from a charcoal sketch to a bold and graphic 20x24" poster.
