SCOPE at Texas State

SCOPE at Texas State Founded in Spring 2015, SCOPE advocates for the rights of immigrants through political action, service, and education.

We fight for a world without cages, borders, or exploitation. SCOPE is an organization --the first of its kind on campus--made up of students that advocate for the rights of all immigrants. We believe in support, success and education equity for all, regardless of immigration status or any other aspect of a person’s background. Members of SCOPE are diverse: we range from being immigrants, to child

ren of immigrants to allies of the immigrant movement. We welcome people from all over, whether it is students, staff/faculty, and community members from different backgrounds. Immigration is not just a Mexican or Latinx issue; immigration is an issue that impacts every single one of us--we have immigrant classmates, immigrant educators, immigrant neighbors, etc. Within the immigrant community, we also have many intersecting identities. We have undocumented Asian-Pacific Islander (API) immigrants, as well as undocublack and undocumented trans/queer (LGBTQIA+) immigrants, and everyone should be able to live with respect and dignity, regardless of their identity or background.

SCOPE at Texas State University is a student-led organization that advocates for the rights of immigrants through service, political action, and education. In the past, we have been able to provide funds to local DACA recipients.

Unfortunately, our funds have run out. Please donate to our fund and help us fund more DACA renewal applications.

Each renewal costs $495, a huge financial burden, especially for families that have more than one person with DACA. Renewing their DACA means that a young immigrant will be able to continue to work legally, drive safely and continue their education and being able to provide for themselves and their families.

All funds raised will go directly to local immigrants in Hays county to help with their DACA renewals, and other costs that arise such as shipping and legal fees, if necessary.

The first $495 raised will go directly to a TXST student who is in immediate need of funds to renew their DACA.

On Friday, July 20, San Marcos apartment complex Iconic Village burned nearly to the ground. 200 residents were displaced, six (6) were injured, and five (5) people are still missing.

Most residents lost all of their possessions completely.

All money raised will go directly to the victims of the fire so that they may replace their belongings and get back on their feet after the tragedy.

🚨Food insecurity & accessibility to school resources is a BIG issue on all college campuses, but an entire different reality for non-citizen students. We believe all students deserve access to food & school supplies, no questions asked.
