Looking for a lunch with a little history? The Heritage Guild’s Cottage Kitchen lunches are held monthly inside the Charles S. C**k House Museum, where locals have been gathering for homemade meals and desserts for nearly 50 years. 🍰

The historic home dates back to 1867 and is the oldest remaining residential building in San Marcos.

Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month (that's this week!). It’s $10 per person.

In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the Heritage Association of San Marcos (HASM) invites the community to gather for a spirited day of history, patriotism, and small-town charm at the Annual Home Tour, Heritage & Home: Americana Experience, on Saturday, May 2, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Tickets are $30 in advance at www.HeritageSanMarcos.org ($35 the day of the tour).

Once upon a time, long before Belvin Street was designated as an official historic district, one of its big old historic houses was purchased by a thoughtful husband as a surprise for his vacationing wife. She had always wanted to live on the best part of that beautiful vintage street, so in 1952, when the house suddenly became available, town leader Gene Scrutchin grabbed it.
