Dear friends,
Our time at St. John's has come to a close, but we've undergone a reformation. Tim Bauerkemper of the First Lutheran Church has graciously offered us a spot for a new home.

It will take a lot of work and community effort to get things started over there. Currently we are in the process of moving what tools and gizmos we have.

If ANYONE is interested in dedicating their time and effort to the process of creating a new community garden is San Marcos, please let us know! We need all the help we can get.

Also, we're have a farewell celebration this Friday at 6pm in the garden! See our event for more details.

Dear friends,
I am sad to announce that St. John's Catholic Church, San Marcios, Tx has given us until Nov. 1st to vacate the community garden that has inhabited the space behind their church since the late ‘60s. We tried to make our voices heard and reach an agreement with them to maintain the space as a garden, but it seems their expansion takes precedence.

At this time we are reaching out to the community to see if there is any interest in helping us relocate to a new home. Are there any spots available? Is there anyone with the energy and time to dedicate to helping establish a new community garden? We have a handful of homeless gardeners and tools. Any input would be appreciated.

The San Marcos Community Garden would like to thank community volunteers: Ann Whitus, Gary Jones, Tim Miller, Kevin Smith and (CJ)Charles Wright for coming to help save the garden! Including them and our gardeners, we had a total of 15 individuals out clearing the fence line, and it looks amazing! We hope these efforts will persuade the St.Johns Catholic Church to include us in their expansion plan.
