From welcoming students before their arrival to creating meaningful community experiences throughout the year, the 4th Committee tried to work with dedication, coordination, and purpose across every initiative.

Events and initiatives organized/contributed by the 4th Committee:

We are incredibly proud to share that our Acting President, Prashant Panta, has been recognized with two outstanding honors at Texas State University.

Prashant has been selected as the recipient of the William Hatfield Hogue Memorial Endowed Scholarship, a $15,000 award presented by the Stelos Alliance, recognizing the highest-scoring student leader at Texas State for their leadership and service to the university. He is the top recipient among all Junior and Senior applicants this cycle.

He has also been recognized with the Gold Award for Most Spirited Student Leader by Texas State Student Involvement and Engagement, an award that honors a student who embodies school pride, fosters inclusion, and inspires others across the entire campus community. His feature is now live on the official Texas State website.

Shreya Bhatta, a 19-year-old Nepali student at Texas State University, has been diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and is currently undergoing treatment. Being far from home and family, she is facing this challenging time with strength and courage.

The Nepalese Student Association at Texas State University proudly congratulates Susma Lamsal our public relation officer on receiving a $2,000 Undergraduate Research Fellowship (URF) from the Texas State Office of Research.

Her research project, “Fear, Trust, and Justice: How Immigration Enforcement Perceptions Shape Crime Reporting and Campus Safety Among International Students,” highlights an important issue affecting international student communities.

We are proud to congratulate Roshni Kandel and Suvekshya Niroula from the STIM Lab on their outstanding achievements at the WTS Heart of Texas Scholarship & Awards Gala.

Roshni received the Sharon D. Banks Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship ($5,000), and Subeskshya was awarded the Molitoris Leadership Scholarship ($5,000).

These prestigious recognitions reflect their dedication, leadership, and meaningful contributions to transportation and engineering research. Congratulations to both on this well-deserved honor.
