Today was bittersweet as we said ‘see ya later’ to two of our teammates: Miles and Omar. Omar has been with us for the past 5 months as he transitioned out of the Marine Corps - hearing his farewell speech today was encouraging as he highlighted how much our program helped him through his transition out of military service. Miles has been with us for 20 months, long before we ever considered starting formal training program. Managing livestock has come naturally to Miles and it’s been encouraging to watch him learn and grow into the leader he is today. It has been a gift to have both of these men in our program and we can’t wait until our paths cross again. We are proud of the growth they’ve both had during their time with us.

This week we had the opportunity to host a team from the Department of War REPI (Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration) program office. They were able to meet the team, view regenerative grazing in action, and better understand our mission and goals.

Getting the herd collared today!

Today we fitted a group of cattle with virtual fence collars. A little technology, a lot of teamwork, and plenty of learning!

We’re excited that this work also creates an opportunity for our veterans to learn something new alongside experienced ranching mentors. From hands-on livestock work to new technology, every day on the ranch brings another chance to learn, teach, and build skills together.

Grateful for the mentors and partners who are willing to share their knowledge and for the veterans who are willing to get their hands dirty and try something new. 🇺🇸🐄

Today we hosted the Farmer Veteran Coalition – California Chapter for a field day to share the regenerative grazing work we’re doing. Grateful for the opportunity to connect, share, and learn together. 🌱🐂
