🌷Getting the next crop in the ground starts long before harvest.

This week, volunteers prepared beds, planted seedlings, and put in the work that future harvests depend on. From broadforking to planting, every task helps keep fresh produce moving from the farm to our distribution partners across the county.

Thank you to the volunteers who spent their morning with dirty gloves, muddy shoes, and a shared commitment to growing food for our community.

A huge thank you to the San Luis Obispo Blues for teaming up with us! 💙⚾️

We’re honored to be their charity partner on Tuesday, June 30, and they’ve generously donated game tickets for our June volunteers.

Volunteer at the farm any day in June, and you’ll receive a free ticket to the game. Spend a few hours growing fresh produce for our neighbors, then cheer on the home team with fellow volunteers.

May, you were a good one 🌾💚
This month, our volunteers showed up in all kinds of ways, planting, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing produce that was shared across San Luis Obispo County.
Because of this community, fresh food reached our neighbors through trusted distribution partners, week after week.

Thank you for being part of it. We’ll see you in the field in June.

Late May on the Central Coast means fresh harvests are picking up

Right now, we’re seeing crops like lettuce, cabbage, carrots, and zucchini coming in strong. These are the kinds of foods that move quickly from the field to our distribution partners, where they’re used in home cooking and meal programs across the county.

Simple tip: store leafy greens with a damp towel in the fridge to keep them crisp a little longer.

Grown to give 🥬

Today’s harvest was one for our spring record books: 549lbs of fresh produce (including cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, kale, and early summer squash)!

We’re always welcoming new volunteers at the farm. No experience needed, just a willingness to learn and lend a hand alongside a kind, hardworking crew.
Every hour in the field helps grow and share fresh food with our neighbors across the county. 🌻

A quarter can go further than you think. Together, small acts of generosity can grow into something meaningful.

A recurring gift of just a quarter a day (about $7.50/month) helps sustain seeds, tools, irrigation, and the volunteer-powered work behind every harvest shared with neighbors across SLO County.

🌱Big planting weekend ahead at the farm! We’ve got hundreds of seedlings ready to go in the ground, and we could really use a strong volunteer crew to help plant and move wood chips.

Think of it as an outdoor workout with a greater purpose 💪💚

Bring a reusable water bottle, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and a willingness to help feed our community.

We love seeing creative ways our community is expanding access to local food 🌽🥬
is an SLO-born nonprofit delivering fresh, locally sourced food to doorsteps every Friday, from Nipomo to Paso Robles. They partner with regional farms and makers, and reinvest their earnings back into increasing food access.
It’s one more way folks across our county are working toward the same goal: making good food more accessible.
