Introducing Luke Johnsen-this week’s Meet the Member Monday contestant
Luke is a 9th grader and attends Atascadero High School.
Luke has been raised in the tractor world all his life. He was given the name Tractor Man when he was little. He watched his grandfather at a very young age and knew he wanted to be around tractors. His first tractor he drove was a John Deere 4020 and is still in the family today.
Beyond tractors, Luke enjoys hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He has also been involved in 4H for 5 years. Through 4H, he has developed many leadership skills and public speaking skills and served as Sargeant of Arms.
Luke’s tractor is a 1956 Farmall Cub. He feels very fortunate to have Tim Havemann as his mentor.
Wishing you all the best!

Meet the newest “Meet the Member Monday”. Introducing Gavin Switzer.
Gavin has chosen to restore a 1952 Allis Chalmers.
Gavin has grown up and been raised on the agriculture side of life. His interest in tractors has come from his grandpa Mark. Gavin’s grandfather has been farming since he was a little boy. Gavin remembers being around 4 or 5 years old and riding on their John Deere 4500 tractor, which was the first tractor Gavin ever ran. He is now 15 years old. One of Gavin’s favorite tractors to run is his grandpa's swather which they farm hay with. Thanks to Gavin’s dad and grandpa he is now very comfortable running almost any tractor or even vehicle. Gavin favorite thing ever is farming. He loves watching the ground go from nothing but bare dirt to little sprouts and then into hay.
Best of Luck Gavin!

Introducing Jacob Day – our Meet the Member Monday!
Jacob is restoring a 1951 Ford 8N Funk Conversion. Jacob has his tractor at Their Place where Jim Bergman (owner) suggested to him to possibly restoring a tractor. Jacob took on the challenge!
Jacob feels that this experience of restoring a tractor has helped him become a more persistent and patient person. He realized that he enjoys working with his hands instead of being behind a desk and learning the importance of communication. He is having to reach out to find different parts through out the United States. Although it is not easy to restore a tractor, Jacob loves the challenge.
Jacob is looking forward to possible careers in the Mechanical field.
Wishing Jacob all the Best!

Meet the Member Monday – Samantha Williams

We are proud to introduce Samantha Williams, now in her third year with the JB Dewar Tractor Restoration Education Program. This year, Samantha is restoring a 1947 Avery Model A.

Samantha’s goal is to one day own her own veterinary practice, working with large animals and wildlife—a passion that reflects her strong work ethic and dedication.
Outside of the restoration program, Samantha is an accomplished trap shooter. This year alone, she has traveled to compete in the Nevada State Shoot, the Hawaii State Shoot, and several local events. She also attended the Spring Grand in Tucson, Arizona. Looking ahead, Samantha plans to compete in the California State Shoot in Kingsburg and the Grand American in Sparta, Illinois, among others.
We are proud of Samantha’s continued commitment, both in and out of the program, and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes this year!

Meet Raymond Dubost – Our featured Meet the Member Monday contestant!
Raymond is currently a sophomore at Templeton High School. He is quite the athlete and is in Cross Country and Track and Field. He enjoys woodworking, scale models and of course restoring tractors.
The tractor Raymond is restoring is a 1942 Ford 9N.
This is his first tractor and is loving the new challenges he is being faced with. He is learning the art of welding too. As a member of Templeton FFA one of his biggest challenges is learning AET, which is used to track the Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE), FFA activities, and agricultural education records.
Wishing Raymond all the best!

🚜 Fun Tractor Restoration Facts

1. Early tractors didn’t have starters
Many antique tractors were hand-cranked. One wrong move could break an arm—so learning safe starting techniques was (and still is!) critical.
2. Paint color mattered more than looks
Tractor colors weren’t just for style.
Red (Farmall) symbolized power
Green (John Deere) represented growth
Orange (Allis-Chalmers) improved visibility in fields
