Beginner Blacksmithing at SLO MakerSpace!

Date: November 5th, 2022, maximum class size is 4 people.

Local blacksmith Jim Bergman will provide an introduction to the forge, hammer and anvil, and basic techniques. By the end of this 1/2 day (4 hour) class participants will be able to forge safely and will be certified to use the forge at SLO MakerSpace.

Cost: Standard $25 class fee + $15 materials fee, membership required.

Clothing: Leather boots (steel toe preferred), long cotton pants/jeans, cotton shirt.

The blocks we use are 2 sided so you can keep working at home!

All certifications are $25. You must have woodshop 1 before we will allow you to take the lathe course. All certification expire after 6 months of inactivity.

Oh snap! We now have evening hours!

We have officially switched over to our new hours. This means we are only open 4 days a week, but an additional 3 hours every day! In the new year, the space during the week will be reserved for our mini makers programs! So parents, keep an eye out for those announcements come January!

**For our library members, library hours are still 11-2 Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but on Monday it is the full 11-7!
