With deep gratitude, the Cuesta College Foundation recognizes Janice Fong Wolf for her dedicated service on the Foundation Board of Directors.

Janice has served the Foundation with distinction for seven years, including as Vice President for Alumni Relations, a member of the Grants Committee, and a Foundation Ambassador. She has generously shared her time, leadership, and expertise in support of Cuesta College students and the mission of the Foundation.

Beyond her board service, Janice has been a steadfast donor and longtime supporter of Cuesta College, demonstrating a lasting commitment to advancing opportunity through the California Community Colleges.

At its June 1 meeting, the Cuesta College Foundation Board of Directors formally honored Janice with a resolution recognizing her dedicated service, generosity, and many contributions.

Thank you, Janice, for your leadership, generosity, and friendship. You will always be a cherished member of the Cuesta College Foundation family.

We are also excited to welcome four new members to the Foundation Board of Directors in July. More information to come!

Thank you to Banc of California for its generous $15,000 investment in the Cuesta Assistance for Student Emergencies (CASE) Fund.

This support helps provide timely emergency grants to students facing unexpected financial challenges, including housing, transportation, childcare, and other essential needs. In moments of uncertainty, support like this can help students stay enrolled, focused, and moving toward their goals.

We are grateful for Banc of California’s partnership and shared commitment to student stability, workforce development, and the long-term strength of the Central Coast.

What an inspiring morning at Good Morning SLO with the 👏

Nour’s story moved everyone in the room. From growing up during war in Syria, to starting over in San Luis Obispo, to finding her place at Cuesta College, her courage, resilience, and gratitude were a powerful reminder of what community support can make possible.

Last Friday, Nour graduated from Cuesta College with high honors, earning an Associate of Science in Computer Science, an Associate of Science for Transfer in Mathematics, and two additional associate degrees. She is now preparing to transfer to UC Davis in Fall 2026 to pursue her bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Pictured with Nour are Cuesta College Superintendent/President Dr. Jill Stearns, Cuesta College Foundation Executive Director Katie Osman, and members of , a local nonprofit helping refugee families rebuild their lives in San Luis Obispo County.

At Cuesta College, we are honored to support student success and celebrate the people, organizations, and community partnerships that help students like Nour keep going.

A special thank you to SLO for Home board members Susan Dressler, Ed.D., Julie Jones, and Katie Lichtig for the meaningful work you do in our community.

Nour reminded us all: Don’t let fear stop you. Keep going.

This is what your support makes possible. 💚

Meet Nour, a Cuesta College student who arrived in the U.S. from Syria after growing up during war and uncertainty, determined to build a better future through education.

“I share my story because I know how easy it is to feel afraid or uncertain. But I also know what is possible when you keep going.”

From studying by candlelight to becoming a student leader, math tutor, and soon-to-be graduate in Computer Science and Mathematics, Nour’s journey is a powerful reflection of resilience and determination.

Through the Cuesta College Foundation, support helps remove financial barriers and create opportunities, empowering students to achieve their goals and build their futures.

Thank you for helping students like Nour keep going.
