In January, our Special Edition newsletter had an appeal for $14,000 to buy a new-used van for our Pearls. We sent the newsletter, made phone calls, and ran a Facebook appeal. We were worried. How would we come up with that much money? But we had some good fortune. An anonymous donor challenged us with a $5,000 matching grant! If we raised $5,000, they would match it....

For the last few months, Pearls of Africa Children's Fund collaborated with a group of Cal Poly students to renovate the website and develop a strategic social media schedule to raise awareness for our cause.

Their dedication and innovative ideas using their technical background, has given our online presence a fresh, modern look, making it easier than ever for supporters to get involved and stay informed of our children in Uganda.
